Why are some lithium batteries prone to pillowfication more than others? Can't seem to find the right info.
Also, would you rather have major fluffyness or less in terms of safety? Like a bloated battery might look more dangerous but it could in theory be more safe because of stretch vs stiff and brittleness and all.
Not sure of the exact science of it, but cheap aftermarket batteries seem to do it way faster than original equipment so there seems to be a connection to the quality. I’ve seen pillowfication rip open more than a few laptops and phones causing huge damage. I suppose the alternative is explosive fire though.
