Totally. It’s network effects, really. People will only leave if the content or people they follow leave. And right now there aren’t many good platforms which comparably pay creators based on watch time / play count of static media, so the creators won’t leave.

The vast majority of people uploading to YT aren't (or weren't) looking to make money. They didn't even used to pay you anything. People make videos because they're creators and they like sharing things with the world.

Aside from that YT only has 1 more revenue method than any other platform. There are a dozen other ways to monetize their content.
