this is such a stupidly pathetic insult that really just pisses me off to no end when people say it. hell it's not even an insult, it's just stupid and always has been.. might as well just make fun of people for skin colour and gender.
Those aren't a choice. Driving a pavement princess 100% is.
They usually try to justify it with the loose excuse of hauling or towing things, that they do maybe twice a year. It's pathetic.
The ones that actually get used regularly for their design are obvious, because they're beat up from use. And from my experience, they also tend to be the ones that don't park like this. Likely because backing in means you can't actually load anything in the bed.
What does any of that have to do with using "tiny penis" as an insult? The issue the other user has is with the insult itself.
I don't give a damn about the trucks/drivers. Insult them all you want. don't use body parts as insults. it's no different then using skin color, or saying someone is a lesser human because they have small tits or if their balding they are a weak human..
they are bad insults that make innocent people feel inferior for no reason.

My "toy truck" (It's a small truck, with a small engine) now looks like hell, but it's 20 years old and has been used as a truck.
For years it looked great, because I used a trailer for everything, because it's just easier. Bed was used for small hauls of stuff you wouldn't want in a car: paint, bags of mulch/sand/gravel, etc. Or needed a quick pickup and didn't want to go hookup a trailer.
LOL, my 2004 F150 is a fucking wreck. Like the Millennium Falcon, looks like dog shit, runs like a top.
But yeah, if I get another truck, everything possible is going on my crappy trailer.

I think its moronic to drive something that is meant for work and is never used for it. Also, they are far heavier than cars, use more fuel, take up more space and are lethal for pedestrians in an accident.
Maybe I should walk around in a suit made of outward pointing knives because it looks cool.

But you know who doesn't agree with us? Aggressive hateful bigoted trumper assholes. And when you throw such a non-insult their way, it is their own hate and prejudice that turns it into something they take as an insult. At best it shines a light on the shitty attitude by turning it against the wielder, and at worst it gives the targets of their shit a little catharsis.
Even with the more tame versions, like "emotional support truck," I assume we agree that a person who needs and responds well to an emotional support animal are not bad people. But you know who loves to assume that anything like that is a some kind of character flaw? Aggressive hateful bigoted trumper assholes. :)
It was always about making fun of insecure masculinity, which is a very outsized problem in our current moment. But I do think you're right and I'll start calling out that instead. ✌️

And I'm sick and tired of people like you. The person that buys a crappy truck like that usually is scared of not being masculine enough. These people aren't insulted by witty comments, they're insulted by childish things like smol pipi, or calling them gay, or calling them princess (essentially calling them women). I like to believe that the majority of users on Lemmy know these aren't actual insults, but if it hurts the feelings of these disgusting people, then I'm all for it. So get off your high horse and throw the most fucking childish things at these fragile men.

...... People make fun of small tits and bald people all the time. You can argue that people shouldn't say mean things all day long, but the reality is you need to not let every little thing set you off or upset you.

just call em what they are, insecure people. no reason to also insult women, or peoples genetics. that's my only gripe tbh. I've never understood why it's acceptable overall to insult someone based on something they can't help.
I get the overall reasoning behind the masculinity and having small dicks but the insult just never sits well with me and causes this global stigma that small dicks are inherently bad which can turn normal people into hating themselves for just being born.
I don't know the best way to insult those people but yeah..just voicing my opinion which obviously gets misunderstood as me defending them.

I don't think it's right or ok to insult someone based on who are what they are, at all. But I also don't let every negative comment about those things impact me. If someone starts attacking my looks in an argument that means I'm winning and I press harder, I don't get upset about it.
I think the small dick thing, in a sense, is like calling people "gay" when they mean "weird" or whatever. Is it right? Hell no, but I don't let it bother me if someone calls me gay, I pretend I am and I own it. Take away their power from saying that dumb shit.
People are always going to say fucked up shit, trying to stop that will just give you high blood pressure. I think it's better to disarm those things and not let it effect you, then the weight behind those words start to fade.
