Their concern seems to rest on the fact that you can’t line Kangaroos up for slaughter in a factory.

I doubt a single person who voted on this has ever worked in a slaughter house and hunted Kangaroos.

One of these is definitely more inhumane than the other and it’s not the one they’re worried about.

The hunting of Kangaroos is necessary to prevent overpopulation, ecosystem collapse and eventual mass starvation.

Kangaroos have few predators other than humans and they’ve been hunted by Aboriginal peoples for 60,000 years.

They’re also much better for the environment in terms of GHG emissions than contemporary livestock.

I think this is a very naive and short sighted move, it won’t decrease meat consumption, it will just drive consumers back to less climate friendly options.
