There's nothing like a film projected on a huge screen, with good sound, seen with an audience. And being part of a discussion with real people that spills out into the lobby and beyond. I'd hate to live a life where I only watched movies in my living room no matter how good the setup is. To those with issues with audience etiquette and prices, I empathize but if you have seen one blockbuster at a huge multiplex 5 years ago that is not the be all end all of theatre experience.

I stopped going after the last film I watched in the cinema had people on their phones or others chatting to each other. The cinema etiquette is dead and I prefer to watch it at home these days.

That being said, most films that see a theatrical release are generally better so I don't want that to die. I don't mind waiting to see it on my sofa where I can take a toilet break without ruining it.
