Wishing someone dead is different than Schadenfreude.
Schadenfreude is (IMO) about wishing someone alive and suffering, ideally on the receiving end of negative consequences of their own actions.
If those consequences include incurring the wrath of powerful enemies, or the fury of a population then that can be fatal, but its not the schadenfreude doing the heavy lifting, rather the natural course of events.
Sadly, all the people for whom I have outrage and fury are powerful people in high official positions or embarrassingly filthy with money. I will have to wait a long time before karma-aimed artillery hits its mark.
