1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.

4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.
There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.
6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.
7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

I'm horrible with hardware and tools. All I really own is a small set of screwdrivers I bought from Daiso down the street. Everything else I have to borrow from my brother.
I didn't expect to be able to fix the broken key (a hammer mechanism inside the broken key no longer stayed in place), but with my son's craft glue and 24 hours of curing, the key is working as expected again.

The best kind of high! I tell people that fixing things is a super power. At least it makes me feel like it.
It really is! Now I'm tempted to try and see what's wrong with my old guitar amp. I have the feeling that issue is out of my league, though.
Why not try it out? Can't get worse, anyway. Hopefully it's something you can find out with a quick visual examination, like a blown fuse or tube, or maybe a blown capacitor.
I have a huge fear of electricity. Even if I can work on the amp unplugged, I have anxiety even thinking of plugging it back in after an attempted fix. I need to get over it.
Nicely done. I recommend keeping some two part epoxy on hand for projects like this. Epoxies tend to be much stronger than any single part adhesives.

I resoldered the power connector on mine the other day. Not perfect, but it's working again. This of course was after already buying a replacement power cable hoping that was the issue...

It's a CDP-120 and I think it's 6-7 years old? A neighbor gave it away for free since the key was broken after I told them my son was interested in music.
I'm so glad I was able to fix it! The key is a bit lower than normal after a few days now but still plays well.
Nice! I like fixing things but have never had the nerve to open up my digital piano.
