Happened to me in a physics class. Early Tuesday morning, walk in, everyone is studying like mad.

"What's going on?"

"Mid term!"

"That's TODAY? I thought it was Thursday?"

"Oh, it's today!"

So I sit down and eat my breakfast.

"Aren't you going to study?"

"Nothing I can do in the next 20 minutes will make a difference. I'm going to relax and eat breakfast."

Not only did I pass, I got the highest score in the class. People were PISSED.

I always found physics to be good for that. For that class understanding is more important than raw memorization, and cramming won't help you understand.

The only thing I ever do for physics last 30 minutes is going through old solved exercises. At least sometimes you can then later remember a trick used in one of those that can help you.

That depends on if you are allowed a formula sheet

[–] IrateAnteater@sh.itjust.works 9 points 4 days ago

I guess that depends on the person. I always found that I remembered the basic ones, and just re-derived forgotten ones on the fly.

so you're that kind of person lol

In fairness, it was a small class, like 12 students.

But it does show the importance of losing the stress and having a meal before an exam. :)

I really did love physics in college, I took 1 year to meet my degree requirement and then had 2 more years worth of electives for fun.

I would have considered it for a minor, but every time I went to the department to ask about it, nobody was there...

I envy you, being able to do so good without much study..

Goes to show the effort they put on the day to day basis instead of cramming it all into a 3 day window.

I have a dodgy stomach at the best of times ... I make sure not to have a meal too close to any kind of test. I'll definitely do better on the exam if I'm not resisting the urge to run to the bathroom the whole time.

Babes no it doesn't, you're smart and love physics lol. Don't get delulu about it

This is how I always handled tests.

Day of was more about managing my stress and getting into a good headspace for me

Neither wisdom nor intelligence can help him now. He may have to resort to... psionics.

*shudder*

A cloak of intelligence wouldn't have helped, either. Maybe there's a cloak of knowledge?

[–] AeonFelis@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago

Assuming he did attend classes during the year, intelligence boost would have helped him recall that knowledge.

[–] Tikiporch@lemmy.world 13 points 4 days ago

Knowledge cleric, cast arcane eye over the smartest kid's desk.

[–] Mnemnosyne@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 days ago

Intelligence would help, increasing the base ability that knowledge's are rolled on.

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Staff of Knowledge. Knowledge is power.

[–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Power is amperes x voltage

[–] TechieDamien@lemmy.ml 2 points 4 days ago

Knowledge is amperes times voltage

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 28 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Moron. Should have borrowed the codpiece of knowledge instead.

[–] massive_bereavement@fedia.io 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Oh, that codpiece is not for that kind of knowledge...

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The codpiece isn't to help with the test, it's to help with the teacher

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

That's the Codpiece of Charisma, unfortunately it's currently locked in a ... dungeon.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

Reminds me of Konsi attuning to her headband of Intellect. Wrong stat.
