"illegal military seizure?" That's a lot of words to say "invasion"

Never realized they were all actually so petite. Presumably because they all look 14.

Gotta wonder where are they now. Still in Crimea? Dead somewhere else in Ukraine? Escaped Russia?

These guys are most certainly dead by now if were still fighting during the full-scale invasion. Units like the 155th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade have been completely wiped twice. The average mobik survives only one month on the frontline as of late 2024. It was 4 1/2 months in 2023.

Casualties is not the same as dead. A lot of those guys will be injured too badly to fight but not dead.

This post would go down a lot differently in some corners of Lemmy, lol.

One of two of earth's superpowers marches on with AK47s on leather slings.

[–] Murvel@lemm.ee 10 points 2 months ago

Those are almost certainly AK74 on a fabric sling

There's only one superpower now.

In the pursuit of peace we need to remember all the shitty things Russias has done. Not just Ukraine albeit that is more pressing.

You could have told me this picture was from 1980 and I wouldn't have known better
