Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.

I don't think the artist is implying that people driving to work "deserve" it. Just that it happens by nature of a typical commute time with sunrise and sunset.
So I guess next time you look for a house/job, make sure the house is east of your job so you have the sun in the back in the morning and in the evening.

I think they deserve it. Engine exhaust and tire wear creates pollution that gives children lung cancer. Having a bright light in your eyes isn't as bad as lung cancer.
While I agree that exhaust gas and tire debris aren’t healthy, I don’t think we can reasonably say those cause lung cancer in children. Certainly not in any meaningful number.
Lung cancer only accounts for 0.2 percent of pediatric cancers. And even then, it’s hard to say exactly what caused it: genetics, second hand smoke, radon, asbestos exposure… Exhaustion and tire debris MIGHT cause cancer in a particular child, but let’s not freak people out beyond what’s reasonable.

The people in the fuckcars community probably. They talk like this all the time.
I’ll never understand this sentiment that we’re all supposed to move into the same neighbourhood that we work, or walk over 70km to get to our workplace?
Most anti-car people are in favor of improving public transit options.
I'm anti car. But I'm not in favor of banning cars. I want public transport to be good enough that people want to use it instead of cars.
If I want to get from where I live to the city centre during rush hour, it's actually faster to take the tram than to drive, and that's before looking for a parking spot

I'm not disagreeing, but I'm curious. Does anyone think there's a serious policy proposal to just...ban cars. Like, "starting May 1st, there will be no cars. Authorities will be collecting your car, and it will be crushed and melted down to make bikes. If you live in the middle of nowhere...well I guess you'll have to eat pinecones or something."
Obviously, that's silly to even consider, but I am absolutely in favor of banning cars on at least a couple of specific streets in my city. We could do it today, and no one would be more than mildly inconvenienced, and the new car-free spaces would be thoroughly enjoyed.
What if I were to tell you you start with those few streets and then keep expanding the bans?
Well yeah of course, and meanwhile keep building out alternatives and walkable neighborhoods. See how far we can go.

Yeah, I'm all for that. And it's easy. Just revoke all licences. Then have the cops ticket anyone who drives without a licence. You'll make a million dollars on the first day of the legislation.
Obviously, put in exceptions for emergency services vehicles. Put a delay in the legislation so there are 5 years for people to adapt. Make the delay 10 years for delivery trucks.
People lived on farms 200 years ago. They walked to town or rode a horse. They can do that again.
