If you're calling yourself punk and you aren't rebelling against something, you aren't really punk, just cosplaying as punk.
/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.
Fun will now commence.

You're not rebelling you're just trying to fit in
The intent of the original ad is moot from the start with that nonsense.
What nonsense?
The punk and not rebelling bit.
Gotcha!
Being a punk is rebelling. If you don't rebel against something you aren't a punk.
Dying your hair crazy colors like… checks notes black.
I thought for a split second this was just a repost of the one with Chief O’Brien, but was pleasantly surprised.
Not familiar. Or, at least, can't recall that one.
Second result for search terms “O’Brien must suffer meme”
Huh. Succinct, but low effort. I can see why that would do well. Probably saw it back in the bad place, but it's been a spell.
I only used this format 'cause I saw a non Trek version elsewhere recently and knew I had that Da Vinci cutout in my back pocket. Thanks.
What else is the bonus meme doing if not "seeking jamaharon", as in literally? Because there are much better ways of obtaining milk... :-P
I never watched that one. It took a great amount of effort to get through episode 1.
You never watched Voyager? Oh you're missing out. The first season is a little rough but by the third season they grow their beard. Some of my favorite trek episodes are in Voyager so I have to advocate for it.
It’s the crew. They don’t pop on screen. Except for that holographic doctor. He’s pretty great. The blond guy and the Klingon girl have annoying cardboard cutouts for personalities. Harry & the second are just bland.
TOS, DS9, TNG, Picard, Discovery were all good right away. My favorite viewing site went dark so I haven’t gotten around to SNW. Or the end of Picard.
Lol I like your attitude but I have to laugh at you saying TNG was good from the start. The phrase "growing your beard" meaning "to get better in quality after a few season" originated with TNG because the first few seasons of TNG are widely panned for being not good.
Don't get me wrong I love every trek but there is a reason that phrase exists. Most trek takes a few seasons to hit its stride.
Hey, Q happened right away.
But yes, the set looked lol, but it always had. There was only TOS to compare it to. Stewart was awesome from day one. Deanna just looked cold in the mini skirt.
by the third season
Is it necessary to watch the first two seasons for context, or do they do a good job of dropping enough hints to catch up quickly?
When it was on the air I dropped it partway through the second season and never picked it back up. It has been long enough that I only remember a few main characters and that they were far from home.
Maybe watch a recap video? I think you'd be ok.
I personally wouldn't skip the pilot, Emanations, or Learning Curve in season 1. Those are good. In season 2 I wouldn't skip Projections, Twisted, Threshold, Deadlock, Tuvix, and Basics part 1.
Maybe others could also recommend to you their favorites. I just picked out the ones that I never skip in my giant playlist of episodes.
I would re-watch the very first episode for sure, where we first are introduced to Q and the Borg. The final episode of TNG revisits The Trial (of humanity) began in that first episode.
"Grow their beard", the opposite of jumping the shark? If so, I'm borrowing that with alacrity
"Get yourself a beard", check. ✅
Does that work even if you are straight? 🤔😜
Like with much of Trek, once you power through the first couple seasons it hits its stride.
Everyone does the rite of passage at least once, then on rewatches you can cherry pick your faves until you hit s3/4
Voy does crack like no other trek - including you, snw - and it is glorious
I think you've basically gotten the average of the show lol
Nothing of worth was lost. Voyager was terrible, the worst of the old shows by far.
