I officially got the job offer that had been in HR limbo for awhile, so that's a huge relief! Less than a week until the big move. Trying to force myself to take a breather now and then between frantically getting things done.

Our town library's plant and bake sale happened on Saturday, and we raised over 1200 dollars for the programs they put on - a 107% increase in donations from last year!

I've basically run out of small pots for bringing plants to market, but choose to see it as proof that my seed starting has gotten much more consistent. I do need to find more though, because I have something like 300 seedlings that need more space. Sent some texts and emails and also metaphorically begged for them during the plant sale so hopefully folks come through, since I refuse to commission the creation of more plastic.

Thanks, I'm really proud of everyone who donated their plants and time, and for the folks in town for showing up like they did.

I’ve decided to turn my last jam game into a full release for Steam, it will be a lot of work but I’m excited! Sooo I've been busy lol

The past day was odd enough to feel a need to post my own. I think for the first time in years, there's a trajectory. Sure, joining Beehaw was nice enough, but this is where I go back to changing the world.

Found that there is probably a small leak in my roof somewhere, so that's fun. Not sure what else would be causing a wet spot on the exterior wall after last night's rain.

On the bright side, the bit of rain over the weekend basically filled my 2 rain barrels so at least I know that works and collects a good amount of water. Somewhere around 80 to 90 gallons would be my guesstimate.

Edit: Rained a bit more, definitely some sort of leak, but also rain barrels are nearly full now (I'd guess north of 100 gallons, 100% full should be 110 gallons)

I think I’m starting to get back into beehaw, so 👋 it’s been a crazy several years…I’ve been diagnosed with clinical depression and now I’m better so that’s good overall

Man, chronic fatigue is a fucking bitch.

Got a new PC today and I legitimately can't even move it anymore. Just bringing it inside caused my energy to drain near zero (plus the lovely side effects of my body thinking it was exercising and causing pains and other discomfort because why the fuck not).

I'll have to set it up on my desk and everything tomorrow or Friday. Chassis too heavy, also have to set up new UPS, even heavier.

Might have to do this over three or four days, actually. Rest day in between because also software setup and restoring some backups and getting all my system settings in order. At least some of it can be reliably automated with Chris Titus' Windows utility, so that's nice.

(Then I also need to replug the old one in and properly erase the SATA SSDs before opening that up and removing them, but that can probably wait until next week anyway since it's not going anywhere anytime soon.)

Suggestion: Keep the SSDs and get external housings. They're unlikely to generate any significant income, so using them as backups may be the better solution.

Yeah, that's what I plan on doing. I have several drives from older devices and external enclosures. I never really see the point in selling or getting rid of still working drives. More storage, more backups, slightly more redundancy.

You can say that again!

It's going good. Currently waking up. Then going to set up a dentist cleaning appointment and work on historical relativism today. Wbu?

I enjoyed that book. Really apropos reading in these times, an interest examination of "post truth" ideas.

Just got the guy out who put the roof on my house out to see if he could find where a small leak had developed and reattach a piece of flashing. Flashing was easy, he popped a new nail in, I just dont have a ladder that would raeach that area. He couldn't find anything obvious for the leak though so he just hit all the likely places.

It's almost 1pm and I feel like I still need coffee.
