That could look hot with a conventionally attractive belly and perhaps some low-cut pants. Odd choice to not just wear tank tops/undershirts, though - exposing your armpits is huge for ventilation.

Hot-girl summer is genderless

Odd choice to not just wear tank tops/undershirts

Oh trust me, they roll those up too. For the full bikini effect.

[–] SexualPolytope@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 6 days ago

That's how it's done in India.

that's why crop top should be more acepted for unisex clothing.

Hell yeah, crop tops for everyone would solve this whole issue and they're way more stylish then rolling up a t-shirt lol

We must go back to 80's hot guy standards

Look at them, living life, no micro plastics in sight just red blooded American masculinity and lead poisoning like God intended

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 17 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Their clothes are comprised entirely of microplastic floss.

If you can see the plastics they're by definition not micro!

[–] breecher@sh.itjust.works 3 points 4 days ago

They are chock full of microplastics, they just don't know it.

[–] I_Fart_Glitter@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago

We had plastic in the ‘80s.

80s hot guy fashion with 20s body standards

[–] knightly@pawb.social 3 points 5 days ago

So long as we're not talking the 1820's

(I hella need to clean the mirror...)

[–] Droechai@lemm.ee 1 points 4 days ago

You are doing it wrong, according to the wiki you should look like a grandfather and not kickass!

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 3 points 5 days ago
[–] ByteJunk@lemmy.world 16 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Wait.

Grandfathers exposing themselves is so frequent that they have a word for it?

[–] RandomStickman@fedia.io 6 points 6 days ago

It's basically a compound word created to describe this phenomenon, don't worry lol

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 3 points 5 days ago

Where I come from, nowhere near China, it's pretty common to see old men shirtless in their gardens. Hell, my neighbor pretty much just hanged around in his undies all day every day from May to September lmao

Technically now he's a great-grandfather.

That's where you steal stuff while you're hanging dong so if you get caught you have a distraction

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Not sure it'd be much of a distraction.

[–] RejZoR@lemmy.ml 16 points 6 days ago

The Balkans have had this ages ago... I guess it was called Balkan Bikini this entire time it's just that no one named it...

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 8 points 5 days ago

This is all across SE Asia. I've seen it through Cambodia, Thailand, The Philippines, Laos... it's a heat thing.

[–] Cracks_InTheWalls@sh.itjust.works 14 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Is it distinctive, though? I went to Mexico and saw this everywhere from folks who seemed like locals.

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

It's very common in Vietnam too

[–] Death_Equity@lemmy.world 13 points 6 days ago

I do that and I just get called gay slurs.

Instructions unclear poured water unto flannel over shirt, now cool but truck bench is now wet.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 3 points 6 days ago (2 children)

I don't get why they don't just take off their shirt if its so hot?

[–] twice_hatch@midwest.social 8 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Because then you have to set it down somewhere

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 3 points 6 days ago

I do it all the time and hang it somewhere. off a belt or just keep it round my neck. If its real hot you need to free up the pits.

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 2 points 5 days ago

Maybe they think it's indecent to expose their nipples. We certainly seem to think like that when it comes to women's wear, see regular bikini tops.
