Is that someone's chest hair in the background?

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 23 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Nope .... that's pubic hair ... those people are standing on a different section of the body than what you were thinking.

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 3 points 2 days ago

Can't unsee it now. Fuck.

[–] ZMonster@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Someone's print failed...

[–] gibmiser@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Could be anyone's chest hair

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

Pretty obvious its RMS

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 36 points 2 days ago

He looks like an older Tom Scott.

"I had the thrill of a lifetime, hosting dinner for Bill Gates, Linus Torvalds and David Cutler. Linus had never met Bill, and Dave had never met Linus. No major kernel decisions were made, but maybe next dinner 😉" -- Mark Russinovich

Mark is one of the coolest guys ever. Great books and great tools.

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 6 points 2 days ago

Thanks, I was wondering who the other guys were. Torvalds in the former enemy's lair. He's the winner in this pic.

[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 48 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This is really unsettling. Like seeing Tesla and Edison.

[–] chrash0@lemmy.world 43 points 2 days ago (1 children)

eh Bill doesn’t really pull any levers at MS these days, and Linus already got the moral victory of the Linux kernel running on Windows and basically powering their entire cloud business.

[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 days ago

Torvalds should be nowhere near that man.

[–] MazonnaCara89@lemmy.ml 24 points 2 days ago

Best part, Linus is the youngest of the four!

[–] roserose56@lemmy.ca 21 points 2 days ago

They have aged so much. Didn't even think they would that old.

I'd had always blamed Bill Gates for windows monopoly, though now I'm pretty sure it was the US government all along pushing it for a backdoor.

I deal with computers because if I don't, computers will deal with me.

[–] kbal@fedia.io 11 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Is that Donald Knuth? If so, "three guys taking a photo with Donald Knuth" might be a better title.

[–] kbal@fedia.io 17 points 2 days ago

(Apparently it's Dave Cutler, who wikipedia reminds me is the crazy VMS guy "known for his disdain for Unix." Apologies to both of them.)

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

Bill Gates looks like he could be John Oliver's dad.

[–] heavy@sh.itjust.works 9 points 3 days ago

That's also Mark Russ on the left

[–] itsgroundhogdayagain@lemmy.ml 8 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Is the guy on the left wearing a wig?

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 8 points 3 days ago

The wig is operating the human machine it sits on

[–] Brahvim@lemmy.kde.social 3 points 2 days ago

Since the last time I saw an image of him, I've become sure that Mark has amazing hair.

[–] zombiewarrior@techhub.social 7 points 3 days ago (2 children)

@Sunshine wow bill ya really let yerself go

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I mean gates never joined the modern "Hey look at me, I'm getting ripped now", Watch me surf... see I'm a cool dude not just a tech nerd billionare club.

[–] andybytes@programming.dev 3 points 2 days ago (2 children)

You don't think Gates has sex parties and does drugs from time to time or at one point? I mean, are you following this dude around? How do you know? This is the problem with idols. We just kind of project ourselves or our preconceived notions of what these people are.

[–] Dumhuvud@programming.dev 3 points 2 days ago

I mean, he was an acquaintance of Epstein.

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 1 points 2 days ago

I mean only talking about his public image that he maintained. Gates kept the public image of, I'm a quiet boring nerd who's running a company and helping charities where I can. IE very different public image than zuck who hit a phase where he just publicly wanted to be seen as a ripped martial artist fighter surfer with 6 pack etc... or even Elon Musk who clearly had MAJOR work done on his hair etc...

What gates did privately agreed, who knows what the heck he was up to, but the key point is, he didn't work to advertise to the world that he was cool.

[–] Dave@lemmy.nz 3 points 2 days ago

The guy is 70, I think it's OK to let yourself go a little at that age.

[–] TheImpressiveX@lemmy.today 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

All we gotta do is add Tim Cook in the photo.

[–] CookieOfFortune@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago

Wouldn’t Wozniak be an obvious choice?

I second this... Good Value Assessment.
