It's not just Canada... a number of countries now have the United States on their travel warning list for their citizens' protection.

Started doing it first time dipshit Mcgee threatened tarrifs, haven't stopped. Won't stop

F$&kin' EH!

During the Cheeto stained felons first term we started cutting back on US products. Still bought fruits and veg from California or other blue states. We also refused to travel to the US for personal trips.

This time. We've stopped buying anything from the US or from companies that are owned by companies that are US based. Now we refuse to travel to the US for any reason. It's going to take them DECADES!! to recovery from this clusterf$&k.

It’s going to take us decades to even figure out what all had gotten fucked. Forget receiver.

Oh, that’s if we don’t just become a shitty dictatorship .

I don't have a passport so wasn't planning on USA travel anyway.

When I retire I may live in a van and travel. I had thought about doing winters, after obtaining a passport, in Quartzite, AZ. No way that will happen now. I'm staying in Canada.

Winter on the west coast, summer on the east

[–] RodgeGrabTheCat@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

West winters for sure. I was thinking of heading north for a bit.

[–] lost_faith@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

the east cost is nice, was there once upon a time, but winters are not that nice out there

[–] RodgeGrabTheCat@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Born and raised in Halifax, NS. Some winters are better than others.

Got a friend out there, says the same

I have troubles with Global, CTV, and CityTV I know they are owned by the big three, which are mostly Canadian but for the most part they play US content. If I want US content I will pirate it but I want Canadian content. I have a pihole setup on my LAN so I do not get to see commercials when I am streaming from the channels apps but I cancelled all my US streaming services and started paying for CBC premium (or whatever they call it)

Was it because a petit crook in FL busted for weed possession was killed at a concentration camp ("alligator Alcatraz") before he could get home to a fucking allied country?

You think that's why?

[–] lost_faith@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

Yes, murdering our citizens generally leaves a bad taste
