As someone who uses E-Verify regularly, I am not surprised. I've always suspected that the system is not very thorough. Also, the feds blaming others for their own failures seems very on brand.

Also, ICE is accountable to no one and authorized to abduct or murder anyone. We live in a police state.

I think it is almost impossible to sue federal agencies as well. Like even harder than defeating qualified immunity.

[–] halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

The term is sovereign immunity.

What's even more funny is that he was approved by E-Verify in March under this very administration, so it's not like they can blame it on Biden and his "open borders" even though they'll still probably try to.

He absolutely can blame it on Biden, and when he does - if he addresses it at all - all of his constituents and plenty of other people who aren't paying attention will believe him. I know this was just a funny observation, but it's important that we're cognizant of how the truth won't save us, and won't expose him as a fraud to his supporters. We're in this position because the wealthy have taken control of the narrative to the extent that they decide what the majority of the people think, and the only way to make things right again is to physically take it back. If pointing out the inconsistencies in Trumps statements was enough to stop him, he'd have been out of the presidential running in the 2016 primaries.

ICE and police officers are natural enemies. Like ICE and immigrants, and ICE and citizens, and ICE and ICE. Damned ICE, they ruined ICE.. Err Iceland?

You ICE sure are a contentious bunch.

[–] Glytch@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago

You've just made an enemy for life

It's fun to watch them eat themselves, not so fun to watch them eat others.

But for this single incident I am going to enjoy the schadenfreude.

Hopefully ICE gonna learn the hard way that Mainers are nice, but really, really prefer to be left the fuck alone.

ICE disparaged the police department in a statement.

“The fact that a police department would hire an illegal alien and unlawfully issue him a firearm while on duty would be comical if it weren’t so tragic," ICE's acting field office director in Boston, Patricia Hyde, said in the statement. "We have a police department that was knowingly breaking the very law they are charged with enforcing in order to employ an illegal alien."

As they wear fucking masks.

Hey. If you're an ICE officer, or even remotely similar or supporting it and reading this. Go fuck yourself you slimy two-faced piece of shit. I hope your mother shits on your grave.
