Fascism is defeated? Wow, guess I must live in quite the cave.
History
This is the history community
"And they all came out of the woodwork on the day the Nazi died."
I understand your point, but at best you are only referring to the Third Reich. Even that's questionable.
But the lyrics continue:
So if you meet with these historians
I'll tell you what to say
Tell them that the Nazis
Never really went away
And when in history was fascism defeated?
We must not live in the same timeline or something.
The fascists in Germany were beaten back by the Red Army. Fascism will keep growing back whenever capitalism runs into crisis, but it remains true that force is required to stamp out fascism, and the group most willing to do so is the organized working class.
I keep waiting for that A New History of World War II by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences textbook to become available.
How do you know that it has been written?
I guess I don't know for sure until/unless it's actually available. I heard about it this past august so every few weeks, I look it up to see if it's available yet. Though now I see that it has a publication date of October 31st, so possibly soon?
