The enraging thing about all this (besides the fact he’s doing it) is that the right would absolutely LOSE THEIR SHIT if a democrat even did a whisper of anything like this. What a spineless, worthless bunch of hypocritical bootlicking fascists.

[–] fishy@lemmy.today 7 points 3 days ago

The right is a bunch of braindead babies led by whatever emotion their TVs and social feeds tell them to feel. Traitors to throw country and constitution. Despicable.

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 135 points 4 days ago (4 children)

Respect is a two way street and it's abundantly clear Trump has never had an iota of respect for anyone but demands respect from others.

Nobody respects this man. The people surrounding him are exploiting him just like Trump exploited his own father Fred Trump during his final years. They feign respect of Trump while holding the knives to stab him in the back behind their own backs, waiting for the moment to strike.

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 72 points 4 days ago

I wish they'd hurry up.

[–] Bassman1805@lemmy.world 40 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The knives are to stab each other the instant he dies, a la Stalin.

Nobody respects this man.

He's a tool to extract surplus labor value from the country. And in that regard, he's a national treasure. The folks in Trump's inner circle have enriched themselves enormously. And the wealth they've accrued will be recycle into future generations as a means of bribing, extorting, and abusing the next generation of "democratic" leadership into furthering the cycle of abuse.

When Trump dies, he'll be held up with the same veneration as Andrew Jackson, William McKinley, and Ronald Reagan. The icon of what a President should be - an extraordinarily useful idiot.

They feign respect of Trump while holding the knives to stab him in the back

Trump won't be stabbed in the back. He's the golden goose, shitting out the US Treasury like clockwork. He'll be celebrated for ages by the oligarchy. The gift that never stopped giving.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 14 points 4 days ago

If they had the guts to stab him in the back, they would have long ago. They're cowards.

Okay, so imagine that we actually manage to have elections in 2026, and again in 2028. Also imagine that by then, Trump's health has gotten so bad he's no longer president, or has even died.

In that scenario, I would 100% support the use of taxpayer funds to demolish Trump's disgusting ballroom, and restore the East Wing as it was the day Biden left office, as closely as possible.

Furthermore, I would support a long-term effort to utterly and systematically obliterate any trace of Trump, Trumpism, and Trump's "legacy" in the government. Wipe him from history completely, except as a cautionary tale. Let nothing be named after him, or bear any of his fingerprints.

Finally, I would obviously support the absolute demolition of any and all of his businesses, to claw back everything he stole from us. Even if it costs more than we'd be able to recoup, just to ensure no one EVER fucking does this shit again. Leave no trace of his businesses standing. Let "Trump Tower" become a homeless shelter.

As someone from Europe: Almost all of that should have happened after the January 6 insurrection 5 years ago.

He’d be sitting in prison in most if not all free and democratic countries.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 69 points 4 days ago (1 children)

He should have been in jail long before that, impeached with the help of his party and barred from ever serving as President again. A reminder that Trump is not the sole problem, and is more of a symptom of a bigger issue that has been allowed to grow for decades.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 22 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Didn't SCOTUS force Cllorado to keep his insurrectionust ass on the ballots?

Republicans as a whole are insurrectionists. Fuck them all.

[–] phdepressed@sh.itjust.works 10 points 3 days ago

They indeed did.

He should've been imprisoned when he refused to return all the classified documents they found at Mar-a-Lago. That should've been the end of it right then and there. There are people in cells at Leavenworth for much lesser security violations.

[–] kescusay@lemmy.world 18 points 4 days ago (1 children)

In those countries, he wouldn't be able to do what he's done with our Congress. Every day, he commits impeachable acts, but the only political body that could do anything about it is compromised.

Yes. Take all the disaster relief funds he's denying blue states and undo this disaster.

You and I are so on the same page with this. The next President - if they are a Democrat, should use Trump's "Presidential Immunity" in the administration of recouping tax dollars for the American people and write up an Executive Order, taking Trump Tower, Bedminster and Mar-a-lago, selling the lot and using the money to remove and rebuild everyting within the Federal Government with his name on it. Also, using the precedent established by Trump to use the DOJ for personal vendettas, they should be instructed to disassemble all of the Trump Organization's holdings and repatriate those billions.

I imagine such moves would force the GOP to get on board with putting teeth into the laws that set the checks and balances between the Executive, Judiciary and Legislative branches, and set that back up again - this time with steep criminal sanctions if those laws are violated.

That motherfucker would melt down the Statue of Liberty for the copper.

[–] Catma@lemmy.world 23 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I mean he would have to know its made of copper first. I am sure he believes it is made out of some completely worthless green material

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 7 points 3 days ago

The actually worthless green material, is the dollar bill.

Trump has debased our currency, and the Blue States will have to invent a new one to restore confidence.

[–] bagsy@lemmy.world 20 points 3 days ago

delete this comment, dont give the greed fuckers any ideas.

[–] eugenevdebs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 48 points 3 days ago

If this was in a novel you'd call it too on the nose for it's heavy handed metaphor.

Jesus fucking Christ.

After it's all put back the way it was, I want to see plaques all over the place for the irreplaceable things he trashed

On this site the historic commemorative trees were demolished
by Donald Trump on 24 October 2025 to make space for the
Epstein Ballroom. The trees had been carefully tended for
103 years on the day of their death, having survived an
economic depression, war after war, and 26 presidential terms
with leaders of both parties.

Something like that. We can hope someone relocated them to a park or even a backyard, but they probably became the sawdust in the authentic vomitorium.

[–] dumbass@aussie.zone 26 points 3 days ago (1 children)

How can you watch everything he's doing and go " Yeah, this man's the right thing for this country". Like you're a misplaced sneeze away from a great depression and you'll be in this one on your own.

[–] AlecSadler@lemmy.blahaj.zone 21 points 3 days ago (1 children)

And yet, people around me still think he's God. Still think things are cheaper. And still think things are better.

They're fucking delusional.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I just watched Bannon say the pedo-in-chief is their god's instrument and that he needs another term to finish what he started.

I guess Bannon is smart enough to know that what the pedo-in-chief would do is destroy everything we know about this country. If I believed in fairy tales written by sheepherders, I'd think that Bannon is the antichrist.

Seriously absolutely zero fucks were given by anyone involved. It wasn't that complicated to at least move them elsewhere to make room for his vanity project.

[–] breezeblock@lemmy.ca 38 points 4 days ago (1 children)

In his mind this is his house now. He’s not leaving.

[–] twykomantis@lemmy.ml 10 points 4 days ago (2 children)

This! There will be no more elections, no more representation, just plutocrats fucking the poor to extract more wealth and power, until there is no more clean water or air and then voluntary slavery to the faceless multinational in charge of your region can be instituted to grant limited access to few remaining clean food and water they've stockpiled. Trump is a cancer and has been ignored and enabled at every turn. There is no future that includes a free voice of dissent for any, but especially of you can't afford the toll.

That time a felon, rapist, insurrectionist manchild cucked America and America just took it.

Gonna need to revise the lyrics and take "home of the brave" out.

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 16 points 4 days ago (2 children)

"Home of the slave" fits nicely.

Wait, crap. Has everyone been misreading it the whole time?

Increasingly thinking we should create a new presidential mansion in a different city and close the white house permanently for non museum use.

Like you know that like half the construction crew is gonna be guys named Ivan who have suspicious links to moscow.

[–] MyOpinion@lemmy.today 17 points 3 days ago

He will soon be out just shitting on the lawn soon. Such a MAGAt hero.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 17 points 4 days ago (1 children)

So funny how Stephen Miller went on that tirade about how they build and we destroy.

Guilty conscience?

Imagine if Mark Cuban, who apparently owns several condos in the NYC Trump Tower, just hired a crane to smash out the walls and build himself a bowling alley sticking out the side of the building. No permission, no plans or permits filed, just BAM!

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 16 points 4 days ago

If any Canadians are uh.. interested...

I'm pretty sure any fire suppression systems are necessarily disabled during construction.

[–] hamid@crazypeople.online 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Destroying the grounds of the White House should seriously be the least of the concerns of Americans in the face of fascism and paramilitary deployments in that country. Burn the White House to the ground for all I care, it is pretty gross that the symbol of the country is a plantation house.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

it is pretty gross that the symbol of the country is a plantation house.

seems pretty accurate to me.

[–] rezad@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

gross but accurate.

For decorum and respect? It way way back there….

Or for us to do something? I’m not sure it exists.
