Yeah. And unfortunately it’s not just America. Here in Canada there’s a rising number of idiots that seem to be buying the American fascism idiocy. Fascist propaganda has compounded with internet media and has only gotten worse with American oligarchs controlling all of it. It’s so fucking effective, like I honestly don’t know what to do about it. Idk maybe it just seems worse here because I live in Alberta.

What's the deal with Alberta, ey?

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 14 points 2 days ago

I don’t know man. People here are increasingly becoming fucking idiots. Giant corporations are fucking us from all sides and they’ve all become convinced it’s a leftist Chinese plot to turn us all into transgendered slaves.

Oil money. Modern day conservatism is a grift.

[–] JohnnyEnzyme@piefed.social 7 points 2 days ago

When the topic of conservatism comes up, I like to ask (usually just to myself) "what are they actually conserving, anyway?"

Because it sure doesn't seem to be the environment, the future of humanity, or anything like that. Seems to me it's much more about trying to push other people around and tell them how to behave and how to think...

Idiots worldwide thinking stupidity only exists in America. Read the news. Fascism is rising in your country too.

Most other countries don't have the power to destroy the entire planet and the rise of far-right around the world is partly due to the influence and fear of Americans. I'm Canadian and because your pedo-fascist president is threatening to annex us, the only subject of the last campaign was how do we protect ourselves from these fascist idiots, the environment was not even discussed once. But obviously, I don't expect Americans to agree on the fact they have an under-education problem that is a threat to humanity.

Did you have an emotional reaction to what I said and forget to think? Pollievre, Smith, Ford, et. al. would be so pleased.

[–] Yerbouti@sh.itjust.works -3 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Lol, insults and aggresion, typical american shit. Fuck you and your stupid pedo-dictatorship.

[–] ruuster13@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 day ago

If I'm acting American, you're certainly not acting Canadian.

[–] BoosBeau@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Lmao, they say hurling insults and aggression.

[–] BussyGyatt@feddit.org 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

You did, in fact, have an emotional reaction to what they said and forget to think. You are now engaged in base hypocrisy. Fix yourself.

You sound like a right-wing blogger lol. Maybe the first Trump election was a mistake, the second was a deliberate choice. You get what you deserve (maybe except for the black americans, the only demography that didn't massively wanted a violent rapist to be president). I really wouldn't care if you're arrogance wouldn't be a threat to the survival of the entire specie. Not go back to your oligarchs, they need you for their gestapo :)

[–] BussyGyatt@feddit.org 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

you're arrogance is a threat to the survival of the specie

either faked for ragebate, or you're genuinely this obtuse. either way, i'm not here for it.

[–] DaMummy@lemmy.world 30 points 2 days ago

Don't complain. There's literally people who live in America right now.

[–] rauls5@lemmy.zip 21 points 2 days ago

It’s just that extremists have figured out how to game democracy, which is fundamentally flawed. It depends in the better angels of our nature.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

The key takeaway from America should be to stop right wing ideology at all costs before it spirals into your own private hellscape of secret police and public kidnappings

[–] jared@mander.xyz 18 points 2 days ago

Always has been.

This timeline feels like a SpiffingBrit perfectly balanced playthrough of Civ VI and he’s doing a Barry Goldwater run.

Some people in the US are talking about "Bidenomics" still. It's been 10 months. Get with the program.

[–] Yerbouti@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Some people in the US are still talking about Bill Cliton like he ruin the country.. It's been 25 years....

[–] BoosBeau@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago
