I love when we take inspiration from nature. Would like to see some mock-ups how such implementation could look like!

I thought it was biomimicry. Bionics is augmenting our bodies with technology.

Both exist, but what you're describing is not that.

Quick google of "bionics" brings up the definition:

bionics, science of constructing artificial systems that have some of the characteristics of living systems.

Biomimetics:

Biomimetics is an interdisciplinary field in which principles from engineering, chemistry and biology are applied to the synthesis of materials, synthetic systems or machines that have functions that mimic biological processes.
