ml is nowhere near as bad as grad.

[–] ptz@dubvee.org 36 points 10 months ago (2 children)

True, but Lemmygrad-lite is still more than I wanna deal with.

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 3 points 10 months ago

More grad than you want to deal with

I'm seeing more and more bullshit from the users in that instance these last few days. It's a shame some good communities are there and some good users are also there. I'm just blocking on a per community and user basis I don't think they're worth a total block just yet

[–] PhlubbaDubba@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago

grad is literally the mask off edition of ml, that's what it was created to be

[–] steal_your_face@lemmy.ml 7 points 10 months ago (3 children)

I joined ml because the creators of Lemmy made it and I’m too lazy to switch ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Same, I didn’t know lemmy.ml had a reputation when I was new

[–] Linkerbaan@lemmy.world -1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

It doesn't have a reputation aside from people calling everyone tankies getting banned and somehow blaming it on ml.

[–] DarkThoughts@fedia.io 1 points 10 months ago

I'm not banned anywhere at this point.

I don’t think they did but feel free to prove me wrong.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemmy_(social_network)

In particular:

Lemmy was created by the user Dessalines...

...Lemmy's co-creator Dessalines...

https://en.prolewiki.org/wiki/Lemmygrad

In particular:

Founder : Dessalines

Key people: Dessalines, Farmer Heck, CriticalResist, Forte and others

Of note:

Lemmygrad was created by dessalines and Farmer Heck.

Lemmygrad was the second Lemmy instance created, after lemmy.ml.

Hope that helped!

It's not really my job to take care of your media competency and I don't really care whether you believe it or not but it is pretty well known that the Lemmy devs are Tankies, which you can easily see on the Lemmy Github page when you look at the main contributors like Dessalines or Nutomic.

[–] PhlubbaDubba@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago

Yeah if I had one gripe with fediverse it's that you can't migrate what instance you're attached to, I'm fine with .ee at the moment but if it ever went sideways I wouldn't want to lose all my user history just to switch instances.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (2 children)

Called it at the time. Once world defederated from grad, I said that the same people would find a new instance to designate as the "tankie instance" to whine about until it got removed for not being neoliberal enough.

Here we are. Wonder what the next instance is gonna be.

[–] archomrade@midwest.social 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I will single handedly pull midwest.social down with me.

[–] Pan_Ziemniak@midwest.social 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Is this only bc i have repeatedly called you out for discouraging voting and both-sidesing?

I dont see enough midwest.social content anywhere to justifying calling it out as anything in larticular in the first place.

[–] archomrade@midwest.social -3 points 10 months ago

It's because I get accused of being a tankie a lot, that's all

[–] DarkThoughts@fedia.io 0 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I really don't know what made you think I'm a lemmy.world user? Lemmy.ml and Lemmygrad are literally owned by the same Tankies that also made Lemmy and a short glimpse into their worldnews community could've really told you how infested it is with Tankies and their agenda.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

I just had a look at the eeeevil taaaankie worldnews community.

I can see why centrists hate it so much. There's so much opposition to Netanyahu's genocide.

[–] spujb@lemmy.cafe 1 points 10 months ago

shockingly deep and original analysis, this

[–] mlg@lemmy.world -4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

so called lemmy.world freethinkers when lemmy.ml users criticize their chosen "progressive" party for being shills

[–] DarkThoughts@fedia.io 1 points 10 months ago

I'm not even on Lemmy but I guess that's hard to grasp for US third party voters.
