Considering the film's budget is rumoured to have increased from $165m to anything up to $310m, I'd bloody hope so! πŸ˜„

So this is what's gonna cause Paramount to be bought cheaply by a larger entity. Hopefully they do well by Star Trek.

Ok, but will it have an engaging storyline and characters that develop over time that we care about? Or is it just a money-grabbing, unoriginal garbage sequel like most of everything put out lately?

So a huge, chaotic, CGI, seizure inducing battle of multiple armies....

What they don't get, Gladiator was great. It told a story and that was the end of it.

This is so, just so.... Desperate? Clueless?

Its like someone pitching an ET pt 2... They don't understand that the story is over. We want stories, not CGI armies or monsters.

...unless it's Godzilla, I could always use more Godzilla

You joke, but scripts were written for a sequel to E.T. Let's just say they were a very different film to the original.

This is why Paramount is headed to bankruptcy despite having numerous franchises and a huge back catalog.

It's all done by committee now, with marketers and lawyers in there cutting back anything that might remotely shy away the most tamest of movie goer.

Can't have that plot! You might upset them! Can't go that route, that's untested, we don't know how audiences might take it.

So we get these boring bland flat characters and storylines because there was zero risk taken in making the film. Nothing risked, nothing gained, movie industry. Then they wonder why no one cares about going to the movies anymore.

Is it this version, written by Nick Cave?

Yet another reason to avoid this absolutely unnecessary spectacle.

Oof, I wish I didn't read that.
