My air fryers instructions explicitly said don't put liquids in it

And there's instructions on bleach to not ingest. Idiots abound.

I reckon there's a pretty good chance none of this twit is true.

12m to make a cup of tea, good grief.

Plus the time it takes for the cup itself too cool down enough to actually grip (as pointed out by someone on bsky)

I was always told not to heat anything liquid in the air fryer because of steam going up and interfering with the fan and the electronics behind the buttons that are typically at the top of an air fryer...

I suspect a number could do with a steam clean given the fat residue that goes the same route.

I think what you have been told is probably very heavily dependent on the model, but typically applicable advice.

The air fryer I have is basically just a countertop convection oven, a bit bigger than my large microwave, that can do an entire chicken or roast plus a side dish on a top rack. The buttons are all on the protruding handle to open the door, so safe from moisture, and the fan is at the back. So I’d be willing to bet mine could easily handle straight liquid if I so choose.. No idea why one would want to, when much better options exist, but all the same.

If the rich teas are in the other side of that air fryer it really will be the end of times!

Some people will do anything for a cup of Yorkshire Gold.
