Ahh, yeah, it can be crowded. We made that mistake the first year and went the week before school in the south starts. The last 2 we did it the week after they go back, like the 3rd week in August, and its been pretty dead. This year especially, and I have a feeling it was even less because people are cutting back as well due to the struggles.

I think things have changed. We don't really drink when with the kids, and we really didn't see much where it was out of control anywhere. I do agree you gotta watch the areas you go to, especially at night. Different generations, I feel like those times are over these days, haha.

Total gas cost for round trip was 2 fills each way, so just under $200. There's also tolls that are pretty expensive these days, but I would say they still bring the total under $300 for 4 people to travel. Of course, I should double this cost since im going twice as far if I do decide to take the plunge.

Just curious what was so bad that you hated the beach? When I grew up the only place my parents took me was Williamsburg VA like 6 years in a row. It got old but looking back i appreciate it. I also hate the beach, I never really enjoyed it and would rather do just about anything else, but the wife loves it, and the kids seem to as well, so I hold my breath, lol. It also seems like the easiest solution for smaller kids.

Look at that line. America is great again, everyone.

Thanks, I see some cool options there. I'll check it out some more. Only other problem is myrtle beach is about the extent of driving south with 2 kids. Its a little over 10 hours. Flying may work, but it does cost more.

Cool, so what will happen to him? Oh, nothing?

I didnt down vote you, I just saw this now. I up voted it to offset it :)

Wow, our family has gone 3 times now in the past 5 years. It's always been great for us. As someone trying to get the cheapest vacation with the most value, this was really the only spot to go. Sure, the hotel rooms were not the greatest, but they had on-site watersides, kids' pools, lazy river, and multiple indoor and outdoor pools with hot tubs. Beach was just past that. Idk where you're from, but for someone in NJ, there is nothing that I have found that offers anything like that from here all the way down. Entire week was like $1700. If I wanted a hotel half as good here, it's like $4k to 5k for the same week. The only complaints I have are some sketchy areas to be avoided, but we got the same problems up here. They are all tourist traps, but I would rather spend the least to give my kids a decent time. Also, the beach is way nicer than NJ!

Maybe one day I'll have some extra money to go somewhere else...

I was curious, so I looked him up. Apparently, he is estimated at $50 million. That's way more than enough to retire, but i will say I was kind of shocked at how low it was. Guess I just expect to see these people in the hundreds. Who knows, it is just an estimate.

It's not shocking at all. I dont watch CNN much, but from what I have seen its clear they do not ask or discuss the hard or controversial questions because they are awful, just like most of the others. At least this proves that they absolutely do it on purpose.

I'm glad I never gave up my home hosted solution. For years, it looked like a dying path. Then I found Navidrome which is doing some great work building off the original Subsonic and the amazing android app Symfonium.

Top 3 today are just shy of 1 trillion dollars...

Isn't the big difference that they have to take it everytime they fail and open one they shouldn't? At least thats how it is at my place. They get a lecture, and then retake the course. Everyone else does it once a year along with all the other mandatory training we need to do for compliance.

This is the same tile that existed when we moved in 10 years ago. Over the years, our kids have splashed water out while playing in bathtub and some toilet accidents... it has caused some areas to start showing hairline cracks revealing the big tile is really just a bunch of small ones placed together. Is there any easy fix to cover this somehow, or will my only real option to redo the entire floor? Thanks!

Thanks for the comments, and the answers are lining up with my thoughts. You are all correct, there have been countless lazy attempts in the house where they cut corners, so it would not be surprising if they did that here as well. Guess redoing this at some point is the #1 option.

Everyone knows one of the best things NJ has to offer is homemade bagels. I was curious what everyone's best bagel spot is. A few years ago, I saw this asked on the other site, and I saw some great suggestions.

I bring it up because today I actually got to try the one that was mentioned the most, and im happy to say it did not disappoint. The name is Bagel Train, and technically, it's in NY but only about 30 seconds over the border. This one may have taken 1st place for me. Before this, my favorite was Hot Bagels in Fairlawn. Has anyone else got some suggestions for the best of the best?

Our 11 year old dog Domino just passed early this morning. She was the world to our family. Sweetest dog I have ever known, and as this was my first pet, I have to say this is an extremely hard day. Here is a pic of her several months ago giving us love. I only hope we gave her a great life.

The Turner Doomsday Video is the internal title of an apocalypticism video intended to be broadcast by CNN at the end of the world. The video, created at the direction of CNN founder Ted Turner before the network's 1980 launch, is a performance of the Christian hymn "Nearer, My God, To Thee" performed by multiple members of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine bands.

It was never seen by the public until it was leaked in 2015 by a former intern.

So I just had my first renewal come up since they switched to the 3 tiers. I brought up a bunch of years to avoid the higher pricing for as long as possible. Weird thing is it said 12 months for top tier renewal was $80. I tried to pay it early and it was going to be the higher price, so I let it do it on its own and sure enough only $80 was charged. Now i see next years renewal also says $80. Did I get some amazing glitch were the pricing is completely off? Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a reason behind this or if I somehow got an amazing issue happen to me. Screenshot

My favorite comfort food pot roast. Let it cook all day yesterday on low heat. Reminds me of my childhood, of course it's never as good.
