I've been looking for a copy locally for years. I feel like I gotta just grab a copy off ebay at this point

I'm not sure why but I'm able to disable them on mobile. The tricky part is guessing what the original track is. I'm on YT premium which might be why?

I think the ideal functionality would be having (ORIGINAL) next to the audio track that isn't dubbed and have that set to the default setting.

I think if they can get the dubbing correct and actually working as intended, that would be incredible for opening up cultures for everyone. I think crossing language barriers is really cool.

I think that's really interesting. I often think about these moments of community/humanity. The closest I can get is if I have a nice conversation with a neighbor if I have the time. Or finding like-minded people online to chat with.

Smartphones became common place in my last year of high-school, but even at that point mobile data plans weren't large enough to cause a major impact, but community gathering spots were already gone by that point where I live, so school was the community place. Once I graduated, that was gone. Very weird time to grow up. I'm meeting a lot of people in their early 20's now who don't even have the luxury of remembering those simpler times.

It feels super odd because it seems reminiscent of old stories passed down from generations. I hope that this trend ends positively in the future and that the future youth remember these terrible years as a paragraph in a history book and how we overcame these issues.

It really feels like the tone has drastically shifted with how they operate. I miss Reggie and Iwata

Oh sorry I meant the 2020 BLM protests, not covid. But yeah not dying or having your life ruined by the current US gov helps too

My hope is that the pressure is rising, and eventually, something will happen that will cause people to get going. Similar to 2020

Sorry I don't have a way to help. I noticed this changed recently as well and was really frustrated by it.

Believe it or not, a decade ago, EA support was actually good. I know it sounds insane but I had the BEST customer service call with someone from the Midwest US. I was trying to get into the time trials in the game Mirrors Edge. For some reason, I was getting a weird connection error.

I spoke to this customer service rep who walked me through some bizarre steps, which seemed effectively like clearing the cache of my xbox. All the while, we just shot the shit and discussed games. It was just a casual call, she was genuinely helpful and SO efficient.

At the end of it I didn't wana hang up the phone LOL. It was the best customer service call I've ever had and it kills me knowing that they axed these people at some point. It was a call that I think is rare to experience nowadays with service reps being overworked and monitored to hell and back.

The owner of the company I work for was celebrating this last night. Gross

I was going to say "but someone could post a picture with the date and their username" and then realized that can be spoofed. And then I thought what about some kind of video? Wait that could probably be spoofed too.

Maybe you could have it so only real people could get in via word of mouth? But eventually I'm sure someone with bad intentions could enter

I've been streaming recently, and one thing that stands out to me is when you first boot up a game and it doesn't have a start menu with settings.

I noticed it before, but now I really notice it. If something is wrong with the settings, sometimes that intro is unplayable or a less than optimal experience. So you have to try and skip, fix the issue, and then restart the game and try again. This seems to be more of a PC issue than a console issue, but even on consoles sometimes you need to adjust things like brightness or add subtitles

Oooh, grounded felt like they didn't play test for solo players. The end game suddenly got very grindy, and I decided not to finish because of it. Loved the game otherwise. I'm hoping they will try to balance it more for the second game

What are your thoughts on this? Are you happy? Sad?

I'm extremely curious. If you asked me this as a kid, I would have been celebrating. I always thought games should be accessible to everyone. But now I'm questioning if Microsoft plans to keep the Xbox ecosystem alive.

Exclusive titles are/were the incentive to keep people on certain consoles. Currently, I think only gamepass and digital libraries would be the only reason to stay with Microsoft if they continue to make systems in the future.

Additionally, I'm curious as to how this could destabilize the market. With no direct competition for high end hardware (other than pc/the steam deck), Sony can kinda do whatever they please.

I feel like I've played a good amount of horror titles, and I find I don't really get scared much anymore.

What are some titles that scared you the most? I would love to hear your recommendations!
