They get teamed up in so much fanart. It's great.

And they're kids. Kids don't typically comprehend the significance of romantic attraction between people, or concepts like marriage, until at least their teens. And even then are likely working off a very basic understanding of what a commited relationship involves.

Marriage to a nine-year-old might just mean being together forever. But being together forver is a much simpler thing in the mind of a nine-year-old, than in the mind of an adult.

If you ever find another, I'll take her off your hands.

Japan needs those birthrates to rise. Can't just be messing around anymore.

Obviously not.

Pre-pubescent kids announce they love someone all the time, no adult or near-adult takes it seriously, nor should they.

And I was not the type of kid to say it aloud in the first place.

I was over it before I realized that the last time she'd visit had passed.

Meanwhile, kid me had a huge crush on our regular babysitter, and I used to go out of my way to be as nice to her as I could.

He's kinda grown up with his audience. I dropped out of watching as I hit adulthood, then tuned back in for his "meme review" phase, where the inside joke was that everyone watching was a nine-year-old, when in reality he already had an aging audience.

He eventually grew bored with the format (and at that point already he made it clear he was doing it for fun, not because he needed to). The view counts steadily trended downwards as he switched to making videos he wanted to make, instead of ones that made money, as he was set by then.

At some point he ran a book-club style format, because he wanted to get into reading more. At least some portion of the fanbase was into that, but at that point he lost a lot of viewership.

Nowadays he seems to post very infrequently, and it seems to mostly be vlog-style content about family life and living in Japan.

Then that's exactly what I have done.

I read a lot of manga at my local library as a kid.

Here, if a volume, or a series, is missing, the Helsinki library system allows you to browse where every library item they have is, in every library in the tri-city area.

It's in a library far away? You can request it for lending, and it will be moved to a library of your choosing, where you can then go pick it up. There's a copy in a nearby library? You can still request it be moved, but it's faster to just go there, borrow it from there. And when returning it, any library will do, no need to travel back to the one you got it from. All the units they have are currently lent out? You can sign up to be in line to borrow one.

I regularly put in requests to be able to check out entire series all at once, binging every single volume that existed of something in a single weekend. Then keeping track and putting in requests to have a copy of any new volumes be available at my local library, right after publishing.

You can request stuff that isn't in the system, and if there's at least a couple people interested, it will probably get acquired. One Piece 103 in finnish is not yet out, and HelMet already has info on their site tracking 9 copies that they've ordered, with one person in line waiting to borrow one of them asap.

Not everything is available of course, but it's a lot. The manga category currently has 6940 unique items. And HelMet cares about making sure there aren't gaps. What's the point of free libraries if you can't read stuff from beginning to end?

If you get tired of it, get in touch. I won't mind adding Bloom County as one the communities @dailycomic@sh.itjust.works posts to.

People don't seem to mind with CnH. Often bots are introduced to do something without anyone asking, but with stuff like this it's pretty clear that it's content people like, and which they want to continue seeing. Just the first post from the bot account got a comment about it, and it was just someone saying "oh, this makes sense".

Is this some joke I have too many library cards to understand?

You'll want to look for "dirt-" or "grungemaps".

Then either manually uv map the model or use a basic UV projection mode to apply the texture to the materials.

Then you plug the texture map into the places you think it should go. Fingerprints, for example, show up as a reduction in specular reflectivity, rather than any color.

IIRC Andrew price has a video on dirt and grunge mapping. That's how I first learned about it.
