Congress has already shown they have no power over Trump. They gave away the power to fight him already by going along with everything he's said and done. It's too late for them to try and rein him in at this point.

A generation from now, they'll ask you why you didn't help stop fascism and your reply with be "well grandson, it was a 3 hour drive"? That's your excuse?

This isn't going to be easy! You can't fight fascism from your couch. You have to do something to stop it. And right now all it'll take is driving 3 hours. That won't always be the case as they solidify their power and crack down on dissent. And you'll sit there as the brownshirts drag people out of their homes and wish all you had to do was drive 3 hours.

And still the American populace just sits there waiting for someone else to save them.

That's exactly the problem. Vaccines have worked so well that people have forgotten the horrors of the diseases they prevent.

I read an article a while back about a mother who's little girl caught whooping cough. She hadn't vaccinated her, but said that watching her daughter struggling to breathe was the worst thing she'd experienced and wished she had listened and given her the vaccine.

People realize very quickly why vaccines are important, but it's usually by experiencing it firsthand, and unfortunately it's too late by then.

Impeachment? Midterms? Those words are meaningless now. The system has been broken and dismantled. You can't vote your way out of fascism. The fight needs to be fought on every front, including those ones, but they will not save you.

The only way out is for the population to rise up in mass protest.

Alone, there's not much you can do. That's why you need to organize. Find other people and groups to join with. Not only do you have more power as a group, but you have other people so you feel less alone and isolated.

Organize. Resist.

It's a security measure to make sure no one else gets the wrong idea and emulates him. They have to treat him poorly and make an example out of him.

Seriously?! Stopping the march of fascism is "very little return"?! You understand that this will get worse and worse, right? It might not seem that bad now, but they'll haul away more and more minority populations, steal more power, start wars, and oppress everyone else. You're not fighting against what conditions are like now. You're fighting against what they will be when he takes full control.
