I honestly think he just wants to go to Mars. I think he is convinced that he can be the one that makes humans an interplanetary species and he thinks that humanity will be forever changed for it and that he will own the bridge and he will become king of mankind. But he needs more resources to get there, cuz the engineering just isn't there, the research hasn't even been completed yet. So in order to speed things up he is dismantling the US government and giving himself cyber truck deals and space x rockets contracts so that he can funnel it into rocket research.

Is that true? Wouldn't it be illegal to drive without insurance? I just googled it and I'm not seeing anything about cybertrucks not being insurable. I hate Elon anf those trucks but I just want to confirm something is true before I propagate it. Do you have a link?

Plenty of people are. I'm going to local marches, calling my representatives every day, and organizing with my neighborhood mutual aid society. There are plenty of things to do. Right now is when we need hands on deck

No, they spend plenty of money and action, they just spend it to deny women healthcare, limit whom you are allowed to love, and to remove books from libraries that show the experience of any non-white person. They spend spend it to cause harm to people they don't even know for reasons they can't even put into words

Yes but but not native United Statesians

Whats worse is that the current administration has stated that native Americans are not US citizens and indigenous communities are being hassled hard by ICE right now. I don't know what their plan for native people eventually is but it won't be good and it won't be to just leave them out of this.

I think it is because for many, these tactics seem very thinly veiled and obvious, and so when someone says something like, "actually, I don't see why eugenics is bad" the community, who knows history and to whom the answer seems obvious, can often assume that the person asking the question is disingenuous. We have all been on the internet long enough to have seen trolls and Nazi apologists pretend to be clueless to try to waste everyone's time only to eventually just admit they hate everyone that isn't an able bodied straight white man so the community just want to stop it in its tracks rather than engage cuz it just isn't worth it.

I don't know what gymnastics you've already seen, but I think they share some blame. I agree Trump proposing to send migrants to Guantanamo falls on Trump and Trump alone. However, Obama and Biden both campaigned on closing Guantanamo and claimed it was a priority for their legacy. Both had 2 terms each to do so. Both could have done so with executive orders without the need of congress. But as soon as they were elected you never heard about it again. Because Dems don't want to close Guantanamo. They want to have an offshore prison where they can detain people without due process and torture them on foreign soil. Dems love the police state and Dems love military expansionism as much as Republicans. It would be a lot harder for Trump to send people to Guantanamo if the facility had already been shut down and turned over to the Cuban government. So its not the Democrat's fault but it would not have been possible if they had followed through with their campaign promises. So fuck Trump and fuck Elon as well, but let's not pretend the Dems actually have any intention of advancing a progressive or even a populist agenda because they don't.
