Indeed. I've decided recently to start proper budgeting and getting into investments and I can already say just seeing how much money you spend on things has a huge impact on motivation when going to buy groceries, etc. There are usually not so many problems that need to be addressed (as in, what stuff would make your life easier and comfortable) and excluding all the things you're tempted to buy in the moment has a huge effect on the budget. Even 100$/month spent on stuff you don't need/harms you in some way is already 1200$/year. That's a possible vacation right there. Or a boat for fishing. Or just a contribution to savings account/emergency fund. In a long run living healthy and enjoying more of free activities (like hiking or foraging) would make you happier anyway.

That's how you make more money. Save it and make it work.

The older I got, the more I understood one thing: you have to have a very good amount of Not-Giving-A-Fuck. It's essentially a superpower, as then you stop thinking about "failings". You just do things you want to do. While everybody else is nervous and uncertain, you are completely uncertain and completely unshakable. Cause truth is, we don't know anything about future. Each of us may die at any moment. So, you know, come watch TV? Relax and enjoy the ride.

I don't think that you can look at the issue from only one side, although some of his views are indeed very questionable, he does also talk about the importance of the community, he educates about culture archetypes, hell, both of his books of the series "rules for life" are also quite good and without him we'd probably not have a meme "just clean your room" (which actually really helps). I also think that freedom of speech is the only way to have a conversation on any topic - ban it and people would still align themselves, though now in secret and that could mean tighter radicalised communities with less publicity, leading to unforeseeable consequences. It's better to see what people are talking about, both to openly condemn, discuss, disagree, but also to be more educated about other peoples views and public "mood", so to speak. That, of course, doesn't cancel the fact that after some years I've started to disagree with him more, as he went further into radicalising religious views and hmm... Other things. I still think though, that for some (and me including), he was a positive influence back when it was really needed. He promotes taking responsibility not only for yourself, but also for others, promoting caring about people near you and doing selfless activities. So, you know. His persona currently is in the zone as grey as his hair.
