I got an email from Meta a couple of days ago about an account I had been locked out of for a several years, after logging out, trying to recover my password, which they wouldn't allow without me providing a copy of my drivers license, which wasn't going to be possible, since I made up all the details other than the throw away gmail account
I had been restricted & banned for posting meme's or trolling magats on several occasions prior...

I'm guessing, there was a mass unlocking of previously blocked accounts

Womens sports is an accommodation so men don't have to compete & lose to women

Weight & skill level are more sensible

Moderation for adults is gonna be tough
Who is going to submit to being under someone else's control
There are lots of tools available
All require discipline to use consistently

I have my own organizational scheme to reduce distractions
No notifications on the desktop, Three hidden panels: Time/calendar/weather, Launchers, Virtual desktops/window switcher/system tray Different browser & email for different tasks
Virtual desktops Money, doctors, work
Music, books, games [no email or browser] News, critique of peoples opinions,
Forums & sites I'm testing, repair info, linux stuff

All the tabs on the different browsers relate to the purpose of the VD
If I miss, I move whatever it is to where it "belongs"
Keeps me from being stuck doing one thing too long or ignoring things I should spend time on

I notice what used to be a 90 minute movie is now a 10 part series
I don't remember being assigned entire books in grade or middle school [70's]
The assignments were a chapter or two

There isn't even the expectation that the co2 will stay in porous limestone, but instead end up making the oceans more acidic, which is already a problem with elevated atmospheric co2 levels

The lenovo version of trackpad on my thinkpad has buttons on the top & bottom along with trackpoint that works when nothing else will..
I even have a usb keyboard with a trackpad

I bought a gaming mouse [not logitech] to set up a distro that wouldn't install by trackpad for $12 once the install finished, it sits on a shelf

A forever mouse is a solution in search of a problem

The customer base of people who use mice is shrinking, most people use their phones or pads a majority of the time

I lived this from the factory floor in the central valley of california from 1980-2010
In my experience safety was driven by workmens comp insurance companies. The would be a clip board conga line a couple of times a year made up of representatives of our company & insurance company people, checking to see if their "suggestions" had been implemented & new threats [to the bottom line] identified
Anyone who had a moderate to serious injuries were fired with the expectation the injured would sue the [insurance] company, requiring a lawyer who got a percentage of the award

As time went on the monthly mandatory safety meetings became the perfect time for all of us to sign off on liability for normal operations
