You must be American so I'll help you out.

The imagery is made up! Ice hockey is not an accurate depiction of these animals behavior either FYI.

To support the Republican party in the 21st Century is to be either completely ignorant of, and uneducated about, the history of regulations, education, labor laws, geopolitics, etc... or to be too racist, narcissistic, authoritarian or fascist to care about any of that... or to be just plain stupid.

Most Americans fall into the ignorant/uneducated camp, and are being actively brainwashed by the narcissists/fascists. They're "shocked" to learn the consequences because they're ignorant/uneducated.

Under Trump, he said, America could no longer be relied on.

This should be "with a population that supports and enables a kleptocratic dictatorship, America could no longer be relied on."

This isn't just Trump. It's American conservatives, the whole political class, corporations, and civilian population that are ultimately to blame for this mess (in that order). Anything less than a civil war won't result in the threat being neutralised for decades, and will define the rest of 21st Century geopolitics.

Don't look up

If even a relatively small number — say 10-20% — just refused to buy anything other than the bare essentials (like food, energy, utils) until action was taken, you'd probably see more action than if those people got out in the streets and protested.

By that logic, Israel's a fascist ethnostate committing genocide, so we shouldn't show their reporting because "there's questions around the authenticity and accuracy of their reporting".

That would be unusual. Most sports stadiums in most major cities are heavily subsidized by the city/state (e.g. tax payers), especially in public transportation. I'd be surprised if even a small % were 100% privately funded.

It's legal because we live in corporate dictatorships masquerading as "democracy".

Elon's gonna get murdered in the next year or two. I'd be willing to bet. Right now he's swinging his dick around all over the world like he's invincible, but everyone's forgetting he made the decision to get involved after Trump had 2 assassination attempts in a few months.

There are probably dozens of people plotting Elons death right now, and when it happens I will laugh.

How many of these soccer stadiums have been build with tax payer money?

Evidence of systemic bootlicking right here

The USA is a corporate dictatorship masquerading as a democracy — in plain sight, as clear as day — and liberals are still debating why the 90% corporate owned D's are ineffectual at stopping the 100% corporate owned R's from implementing a totalitarian fascist regime.

It'd be fucking comically hilarious if I knew it wouldn't result in civil and global wars, mass murder, climate and ecological collapse, etc, etc.

Not really "powertripping". Just pathetic. Consider this a notice to avoid feddit.org... I've unsubbed and blocked the instance.

We can't dehumanize fascists for their choice to dehumanize everyone for things outside their control though, because that would be mean, and hurt their sociopath feefees!

Europe stool idly by throughout the 1930's "tolerating" fascism, and the Nazi's killed over 100 million people. Don't make the same mistake as the radical centrists of history. Fascists will not afford you the same tolerance or courtesy.

First comment removed from asklemmy thread about who's good/bad re Israel/Palestine is apparently too nuanced and anti-extremist for snowflake dessalines. Ya gotta fuel the hate and extremism if ya wanna comment round tankie parts...

The linux ban was regarding a comment (pretty sure the OG comment was different) about Russian maintainers being removed from the linux project. Obviously you can't call out capitalist Putin's authoritarian dictatorship in the communist sub, because ML mods are pro-authoritarian and pro-dictatorship; not anti-capitalist... At this point I'm convinced most "tankies" are just PsyOps operatives.

I can't figure out how to view my own reply comment anymore, but a /Ukraine user commented this insanity and I called them out — that cornering a sociopathic nuclear armed dictator is recklessly stupid, and exactly what will trigger a nuclear war — and got massively downvoted for "enabling Russia". 90% of the user base agreed with "conquering" Russia, and thought previous mini incursions across the border are equivalent; proving that nukes are a forever bluff.

The best part? After inspecting several of the mods and users comment histories I realized all seem to have nothing to do with Ukraine whatsoever, and appear to be young pro-war machine North American jarheads (or keyboard warrior wannabes), who sub to or mod numerous other military related communities.

Thus, conservatism and neoliberalism are, in reality, the radical agenda...

Funky funky

Broke timestamps. Everywhere. New replies will show "10 hrs" while the original comment will show "18 mins".

When viewing posts I see tons of phantom comments that seemingly have nothing to do with the post or are replying to something when they appear at the top level. Navigating to the post in a web browser shows dozens more comments (not from users I've blocked or anything).

Formatting of content across posts and comments doesn't match what the site does when I view it in the browser.

Thanks to the Memmy dev and any contributors, but broken software is broken software.

So, what's the best alternative these days?
