That's what I'm hoping for actually. I have an email with forwarding set up but the backup is to another email I don't have access to. I want to make a new account with my own old email. I know it's probably a bad idea.

When someone just says cleartext, I assume they mean transmission too.

They said clear text, I would assume it's not https.
The police aren't a part of the community they serve, it's explicitly trained into them to treat every situation as "us" vs "them". If "they" have rifles then "we" need armored vehicles.
Edit: to be very clear, I am not in support of police militarization.
