I used to do gig work online. Everything was fine for two years, then they suddenly required the same shit for identity verification, so I quit.

The thing that stuck with me was: "TWO!"

We had 3 cats at one point and I trained them to all come to me when I said, "C'mere, kids!"

Were you guys eating coffee grounds in your 5th grade science class? Your next teacher either hated it because you guys were bouncing off the walls or loved it because you were all wide awake and paying attention.

Amen to that. Here's to quiet evenings.

Btw, totally random but your username is tripping me out because I knew someone with the last name of Steele and he was quite...gifted in that department.

Boring is definitely subjective. I was just telling my husband last night as we were watching a live stream from some bar in Florida, and there was a bachelorette party in the crowd, how imagining myself in that group, I'm already bored just 5 minutes in. Would much rather be home with my own comforts and entertainment.

I've often wished for a searchable brain. No more not being able to think of that thing or someone's name or what exactly happened when.

Same. I just wanted to see if my Honda could keep up with that Supra. So we were going around that speed (my 145mph speedometer was maxed) and weaving in and out of traffic. The risks I took as a younger person!🤦🏽‍♀️ Just glad I didn't kill anyone.

I'm an old lady now, don't drive like one but definitely much safer.

The guy we buy our edibles from indeed uses a whole ounce in every batch. I only have a nibble and my husband eats half of whatever it is, muffin or brownie.

some kind of religious trauma support group

I have been a part of maybe 3 different groups (it's been a while) and used to attend some regularly. That was pretty much it for us--a support group where people shared how they were raised and how they came to leave their religion.

I also met with FFRF people a couple of times--once to join a "walk" to raise funds for a cause that had nothing to do with religion or atheism, and another to help erect a solstice/reason sign for the holidays.

I agree there are some weirdos, but it sounds like OP just happened to join a particularly odd group.

In November 1988, I traveled to Yugoslavia and met the Medjugorje visionaries who claim that Mary, the mother of Jesus, appears to them.

Updates: Yugoslavia no longer exists. I am now an atheist.

I enjoy solving puzzles, and one that I do daily is where I have to decipher a quote by someone.

This quote was so beautiful that I had to share:

“May your love for me be like the scent of the evening sea, drifting in through a quiet window.
So I do not have to run or chase or fall to feel you.
All I have to do is breathe.”

Is the melanochrysum still considered rare? I've been out of the houseplant loop for several months, really mainly since leaving Reddit and r/houseplants. I've acquired all plants on my wishlist but always loved the pics of the melanochrysum that others posted. I wanted one but didn't think I would ever get my hands on one, so never considered it.

Then I started working at this garden center and they had them marked down at half off. First impulse buy in a while.

POV mama cat:

(This pic was taken in 2014. Murphy is over 20 years old now.)

The leaves seem larger and darker than any cultivar I've seen, and I'd really like to acquire one.

I was half-asleep and the sun was super bright but I'm glad the camera captured a pretty shot.

Additional Murphy tax

Our 20-year-old has CKD and we feed him a prescription food in the morning (Royal Canin Renal Support D) and a non-prescription food in the evening (Forza10 Renal Support paté).

Treats are limited to catnip, cat grass, and the very rare small piece of plain chicken.

What do you feed yours?

Job: cashier

Item doesn't scan

Customer: "That means it's free, right?"

🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Only about 4 weeks in as a cashier and I've heard this enough to last me a lifetime.

He still gets the zoomies and crazies. Energizer Murphy -- he just keeps on going.

We keep our oldmancat Murphy in his room at night; otherwise, he'll howl at our bedroom door at an ungodly hour, begging to be fed. His room stays pretty dim, so when we let him out in the morning, he always gives us this squinty face. <3
