LCARS Desktop Environment What is LCARS Desktop Environment? LCARS Desktop Environment or short lcarsde is an open source desktop environment for Linux systems. The main goal for this project is to create a desktop experience that looks somewhat like a LCARS interface.

The desktop environment consists of a window manager that is based on Xlib as well as a set of tool applications, which are a menu of active open applications, the status bar, a program selection and an application for logout, shutdown, etc.

If you got a substantial amount of people to it, like 40-50% of the population it would probably collapse the economy via domino effect. So much is underpinned on people spending money on any given day

But, I don't see it happening in reality, just getting 20% to actually do it would be a massive undertaking and 20% would probably be painful, but not cause a cool cascade of collapse

I think that's what he's saying, the system is based on punishment and not rehabilitation so usually repeat offences and/or escalation/different crime types is quite common thus leading to the system where people who have a record at all can't do much.

If we did have a prison system reform based around rehabilitation, then it would be much easier to ban people's records from being used against them in the future
