On the face of it, President Trump has given Patel a brief to prevent the FBI from being “weaponized to persecute political opponents.” But don’t expect “political opponents” to mean progressive movements. Trump has already made clear his intent to clamp down on Palestine solidarity action with an executive order giving every department and agency of the federal government 60 days to “identify all civil and criminal authorities or actions…that might be used to curb or combat anti-Semitism.”

Why is NBC withholding the more provocative questions being asked at this town hall?

That’s still the most maddening part of the election to me. It’s not a question of Biden arming Israel or his nonexistent red line. It was the constant railing against voting for genocide Joe given the alternative. FPTP with the Electoral College always ends up as the lesser of two evils.

As shitty as this may be, most presidents in my lifetime have been complicit in war crimes. The difference being that the masses are finally being fed the information through social media without having to seek it out on their own.

It depends on what you’re peddling.

MAGA gets paid in lies, and progressives in disappointment. Liberals and conservatives get a weekly stock tip call from Pelosi or Tuberville, respectively. Tankies get paid in vodka and cigarettes, and libertarians in crypto.

Bardella is far-right. Trump is just further right.

Successful interest-based curation will always lead to information silos of conformation bias.

I find that less tech-minded people really respond to the way it’s described in the Netflix special “A Social Dilemma.” It’s a very accessible documentary that you can recommend to your Facebook recipe loving grandma or your tinfoil hat wearing uncle.

It shouldn’t. The DRM is on the Amazon book file format. The books I get from my library are usually epub format.

Did the US just become Canada’s 11th Province?

The White House on Tuesday afternoon posted a video online showing immigrants in shackles being prepared to board a deportation flight from Seattle.

The video includes footage of a set of handcuffs and chains jingling as they are pulled from a basket containing other shackles and then laid out on the airport tarmac next to four other sets of restraints.

The X post by the White House is titled, “ASMR: Illegal Alien Deportation Flight.”

The New York City comptroller’s office, which first noticed the missing money, said that the Federal Emergency Management Agency had unilaterally taken the funds from the city’s accounts.

Protecting Law Enforcement Personnel. One of the Department of Justice's top priorities is protecting law enforcement at the federal, state, and local levels who protect us all. This includes aggressively investigating the all-too-common instances of violence against and obstruction of law enforcement, seeking the death penalty for those who perpetrate capital crimes against law enforcement, and backing and promoting the efforts of law enforcement when they are subjected to unfair criticism or attack.

A California-based startup called Savor has figured out a unique way to make a butter alternative that doesn’t involve livestock, plants, or even displacing land. Their butter is produced from synthetic fat made using carbon dioxide and hydrogen, and the best part is —- it tastes just like regular butter.
