My friend and I have been saying for years that we don't wish death upon him, we wish utter humiliation. We want him to trip and shit himself while he's walking on stage in full view of the cameras and audience.

On his death bed, he will believe he's dying with dignity. But if he rips his Depends on stage, he's gonna lose his mind.

I don't think there is a series that focuses on philanthropy, like I was saying it's just kind of peppered in there because it's boring content for a comic lol

This is probably a bad example - Frank Miller has a series where he tries stopping gun violence through outreach and policy. Not really mental health or poverty but that's where that panel of Batman breaking a gun in half comes from.

First off, the Palestinian citizens are the victims of genocide, not Hamas

Second, nothing good came from the terrorist attack. Only bad stuff and there was a LOT of it. It was a stupid operation that accomplished nothing. Pug is right to question why anyone would celebrate it....

...unless, of course, you celebrate the senseless murder of civilians. Guess you just work for the IDF.

Yeah. And his philanthropy isn't the focus because people are there for the action. It's a comic book, after all

It's an easy thing to assume is true because there is no such thing as a moral billionaire in real life which is why I always call it out.

That said, Bruce Wayne is a conflicted individual. He carries opposing beliefs and his actions regularly betray his cause. But I think that's kind of the point. He's deeply flawed and still haunted by childhood trauma which he hasn't healed from

This is one of the worst commonly-parroted takes in all of comics and it always gets upvoted...by people who have never read a Batman comic.

He literally does all of the things...Rehabilitation is a major theme in Batman. Hell, it might be the MAIN theme lol

Thanks, that's a different wording than I was using. I thought you were implying something different and I was mostly seeing substack blogs.

I have been pro-palestine since before all this, for what it's worth.

Even if it was good, the fact that they wrote Google Plus and not Google+ tells me how much thought they put into this article

I was an early user of it and, unlike a lot of Google projects, there's a reason they scrapped it: it sucked.

Israel mowed down their own people with apache helicopters

I'm all for shitting on Israel but what event is this referring to? All I could find were debunked stories about the IDF somehow shooting Israelis on October 7th without any Israelis noticing

Or even simple accidents. You can be the safest driver in the world and some things are just unavoidable

Wow, I've seen a lot of ADHD analogies over the years but I've never seen that hits so hard because...This is almost exactly how my brain functions.

On good days, I can just act and don't have to think. On bad days, I involuntarily make numbered lists in my head of the steps needed to accomplish a goal and then get overwhelmed at how many steps are ahead of me.

A trick I've found to "harness" it is to consider how difficult the task is overall. Most of those "overwhelming" tasks are just a little bit too much but they're several steps.

If cleaning ten dishes is twice as much as you can bear, your new goal is one. That should be only make out you at 20% overwhelmed. And hey, since your hands are wet, why not hit your limit before you take a break? And what do you know, now you've finished cleaning all of them.

The second part is a good thing. It's how people get paid when someone damages their property (or causes physical harm)

Her arrangement of Pink Pony Club got recommended to me and while it was amazing, too, this is the one I keep coming back to.

Not just a cover, it's an original arrangement and performance of a brass ensemble all played by the same person. Pretty cool.

I love gospel music. I don't mean the overproduced crap they play at megachurches, I'm talking about a piano, bass, and a stomp/clap choir in a black southern community church led one or more strong, usually female, singers.

I've never heard this music that wasn't about God and that kind of puts me off so I'm wondering...is there gospel MUSIC without the gospel LYRICS?

[Edit]I'm talking Blues Brother church scene music - thanks shittydwarf for the link

Hey dude, I was, thinking...

I just moved into this house and was back there to think about what to plant and was quite happy to find this. It's behind a big pine tree and I can't see it from the windows or patio. I was just back there a week or two ago so it was quite a surprise.

I think they came from my neighbor's yard. But the interesting part (to me) is it's the neighbor on the opposite side and there's no peonies in between.

I might get some more and turn that area into a flowerbed with some ground cover.

Hey guys, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this (feel free to point me to a better community) but I'm in a weird "predicament" this summer: My AMD build plans are in shambles after receiving a free ROG Astral 5080.

Now I want to make the switch now with my current (Intel i7-13700K) hardware + this new card. I was only considering AMD before but it's really hard to say no to a video card worth more than my entire budget lol

The slightly worse performance compared to Windows is still an upgrade from my 3070 so that's fine - It's initial/recurring troubleshooting I don't really want to deal with. Most of the info I've found is from earlier this year and no one speaks highly of the beta drivers

Sorry if this is a stupid question but am I setting myself up for disappointment with this new plan? I have a few more related questions I'll toss in the comments but that's my main concern.

Didn't see any grass in the camera after crashing...so why won't it lift off?? Oh..

I was pretty into flying back when whoops were new but stopped for financial reasons. Recently, friend got his license and I caught the bug again watching his videos.

Got this Mobula7 and have been having a blast. My old box headset has an awful receiver but I got a crazy deal on some Fat Sharks that should be here soon.

I also just moved to a place much better for flying - I can fly to a park without passing any private property.

I've been binging Joshua Bardwell's videos and, of course, already thinking about what I want to buy next. Thinking about a monitor or a second cheap headset for other people to watch.

I haven't geeked out this much on a new (or rediscovered) hobby in awhile and instead of spamming my friend, I decided to post here and maybe get this community going.

Anyone else on Lemmy into quadcopters/FPV?

Do you think we could get an "About Community" button on there, too?

Forgot I had to give my dog an unexpected bath yesterday and used all the clean towels

It renders correct in a browser but all the line breaks are replaced with a weird symbol in the app.

Not a big deal or anything but I wanted to share!
