Super interesting method of entry. It makes a lot of sense as an attack vector. Steam doesn't have a very rigorous process for checking what they offer on their platform & most customers don't check their games before running them.

I'm honestly suprised it hasn't happened more frequently. I wonder if the amount of press this particular incident is getting will cause steam to change their process for publishing games.

For me it's because his whole shtick the last month has been about 'eliminating government waste' then there's half a billion being set aside for his companies shitty cars? I think it's the hypocrisy that really makes this particular thing frustrating.

I think this photo in particular got alot of backlash because people think she's exaggerating her features to look more Asian. Its not super noticeable, but I think people were sensitive to it because ariana grande has a history of role playing as ethnicities she is not a part of. For example her brown face era when she would often use a blaccent and tanned excessively.

Heres a link to a more in depth reddit discussion about her and her shifting presentation: https://www.reddit.com/r/popheads/comments/ahdxyc/can_we_discuss_arianas_skin_tone_and_the/

Also a YouTube video of her very cringe use of AAVE: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eLOF7Qaklsw

I've lived in and worked at a number of co-ops. I think they're far better for the employee than traditional businesses when implemented in a democratic way. Having control over the workplace and direction of the business is incredibly valuable. It's also important that the co-op members talk to and know eachother. Having lots of meetings and community building is very typical in this type of business.

Also the type of co-op I'm talking about also returns excess profits to the workers (often with a portion taken out to be put back into the business/saved for a rainy day). In this way they are way better than unions, which no matter how powerful do not fully redistribute profits.

I also think worker co-ops are functionally better than worker communes. Co-ops give much more economic freedom to the workers, and side step many of the pitfalls of live/work communes.

Feel free to ask me more about my experiences if you're curious :)

I lean towards cloth if it's a big room. You could have lamps and stuff on a end table. I am a bed lounger though, so that might be biasing me towards cloth lol.

I also tend to put my legs and feet on the walls, so I would be worried about knocking down stuff on the slatted headboard. Though I did see in another comment that you have cats so the slatted headboard could be a cool way of building them a little cat tree/space to lounge

Do you sit and lounge in bed very often? If you do then I'd vote cloth.

Also is your room small enough that you really need the added space of the clear system? It is a really cool concept, i just don't know how practical it would be.

I can only imagine, big drama like this is never fun lol.

Hey I just wanted to say I empathize with how stressful this situation must be for all of you & i can see that you all had good intentions at heart when doing this. Everybody makes mistakes & I feel bad about how much venom you guys have gotten. Yes the community should have been consulted, but also you're just people and no one is perfect.

I hope you all are staying healthy & aren't letting this get to you too much 💜

I agree with all your predictions to my questions lol.

Though i don't think rednote will actually take the place of tiktok, I think that's mostly a protest migration & something else will take the top spot -- if tiktok actually stays banned. I do think there's a chance trump will choose not to enforce the ban in a meaningful way because he knows it will rally quite a few young and nieve voters into his camp (plus he'd probably get a hefty payoff).

Same! I think it is nice to have something developing that isn't as overwhelmingly frightening as lots of the things in the works right now. Like this is high stakes and says alot about corruption in America, but like at least it's not something that could potentially put me or my loved ones in harms way.

It's going to be so interesting seeing how all of this plays out. Will meta succeed in reclaiming their market share? Will a new app take the throne? Will congress just keep banning any app that is too popular and not under the american oligarchys control? Will trump somehow leverage this into him being the one to save tiktok? Will loops UI ever be good enough to compete? Only time will tell.

What a strange timeline we live in lol

So I found out from my grandma that my Facebook account got hacked. I haven't used it in like a decade and don't care about it, but I also don't want it being used to potentially scam people.

I told everyone I know who still uses FB to block and report the account. Today I was trying to get the account shut down and it is now locked (says it's not visible and can't be used by anyone). Is that enough to prevent it from being used for malicious purposes? My only goal is to keep people like my grandma from getting scammed.

I'm hoping it being locked is enough to solve the problem but wanted some extra feedback from people who maybe know more than me :)

photo of a fuzzy palm sized moth

Any chance someone knows anything about it? It was found in the Great Lakes area. It's about palm sized, found near a tree by the playground. I returned it to an out of the way place where kids wouldn't mess it it.
