Who doesn’t spend $500 a month these days?

First off just to say this reply feels very privileged, there's folks that can barely afford $100 in groceries a month... let alone 4K a month in deposits... is the card realistically for them? Maybe not. But still...

TY for the info on the card, I forgot that the Cash card is more like a debit card and doesn't add to your Credit Score.

Only a no brainer if you can make the $10/mth fee back in cash-back ($500 in purchases?), or if you're Premium or higher. Otherwise why not use the Mastercard Cash account card?

Quboz lets you buy your music though?

I'm equally upset at Canadian companies selling items that are not made in Canada, under a guise that it's "all Canadian".

Example: I want a folding coffee table. Found a Canadian company in Windsor, Ontario. Looks legit... Looking closer, the tables are made in Poland...

There DO exist companies that are through and through Canadian... too many are masking it though. It's understandable for some things but it's nuts for stuff like furniture, like above (QC has a lovely woodworking furniture industry)

Unrelated but during 2022 COVID times I was accosted by someone while in a supermarket, simply for performing the act of touching several bananas and not buying them (checking for brown spots).

They said "Why do you touch all the bananas with your bare hands!!"

I replied back as they walked away "Do you eat the peel as well as the fruit???"

What a weird thing to focus on, are you planning to go visit your VPS in person?

GoCode is the parent company, and you can see they offer colo in an Equinox datacenter. I imagine this might be a one person contracting team that uses a PO Box for home address privacy (as I do myself for my business purposes)

They run a Tier 2 networking service, including peering with a lot of big exchanges. They'll be around for a while... And have been so far...

Hetzner does the same shit for ID verification/provisioning, it's all related to anti spam and anti malicious use.

I host at home but use Xenyth as a reverse proxy, that's honestly what many people who are comfortable to run their own server should do; protect your home IP.

If you're fine to either get your hands dirty, or a kind friend's, check out Xenyth Hosting

Would love real wood if I wasn't so deathly afraid of bedbugs. The risk is too high, especially with used wood furniture having all sorts of small nooks and holes maybe even in areas that can't be seen.

It is sadly also more convenient for me to order IKEA stuff delivered than doing a carshare ride out to it (the Montreal one is so far and way out of the way from downtown / west core)

I am thinking more relating to how on Reddit you can "message the mods"; is there any function like this on Lemmy, or do I have to message mods individually?
