Calling out horrible behavior openly is the winning move. Honesty and integrity matter.

My friend, you can't have it both ways. If he "made a mistake" and then humbly and profusely apologized, then you could maybe pretend it was accidental... But that's not what happened, right? He didn't apologize because he meant it.
We will never, ever, look bad for calling out racism when we see it as clearly as we did here. But we would certainly be horrible human beings if we decided to pretend it wasn't happening.
Anyway, of course you can do what you feel is right. For me, it's simple. Fuck that racist motherfucker.
Remember that those evil billionaires don't actually care about the money itself. If they did, they would have stopped at $100 million or some much lower number, because that's already more money than anyone could ever spend. To them it's about power, prestige, and control. They are addicts, and they'll never give up the chance for more.
I use Debian on a regular basis and have for years, but I wouldn't recommend it as the starting distro unless I knew that the user would have very ordinary hardware and no special software needs. It's just annoying if you have to learn how to install Chrome, or your wireless drivers, for example.
It's almost simple enough, but not quite, in my view. But if I were helping them get it installed, then after that they would probably be good to go.
I think a lot of what he did actually is against the law, it's just that the courts take a long time to catch up. In the last week we've seen dozens of lawsuits start to gain steam and probably many of them will successfully undo a lot of the damage that has been done.
We also have to deal with the problem that the courts have been stacked with MAGA judges who also don't care about the law, but that's something we need to blame on them, and not just on Mr. Orange.
Biden and Harris and many other traditional DNC candidates are pro corporate, and they did what their funders wanted them to do.
Wow, the authors of that article bury the lede... Trump sued Paramount because of what Paramount did covering Harris which actually means Trump doesn't really have any case, but they might want to pay off Trump because it's a convenient way to legally bribe him... That's the real story, that's what needs to be said, along with any other analysis they feel is needed.
Oh, my dear, Canada wouldn't get any voting rights.
This is a really interesting article. Thanks for sharing it here.
Of course it was sinister. Big important systems are delicate. You can change them, but you need to do so carefully. Everyone knows this, even Musk and Trump. It's just that they don't care about the risks and the damage.
All of their actions are incompetent, assuming you have reasonable goals. It's just that they have their own selfish destructive goals.
They don't listen to him, my friend.
And "optimistic about technology" is different from "optimistic about US politics". But either way, if people actually think there's no hope, they often don't bother saying anything at all. Listen to the words, look at the actions. Don't read too much into tone.
