Alex Tyrrell, party leader of the Green Party of Quebec, who accompanied Engler to the police station on Thursday, spoke to the Middle East Eye about Engler’s arrest.

“I think it’s a shocking attack on free expression and democratic rights and criticism of Israel in Canada - a country that’s supposed to be a free, democratic society. We’re supposed to speak out about a genocide," Tyrrel told MEE.

Story by Hossam Shabat and Rasha Abou Jalal

"Life in northern Gaza has become almost impossible to maintain. Getting water or finding a piece of nylon for a roof are remote luxuries. Under the terms of the “ceasefire” agreement, 200,000 tents and 60,000 mobile housing units are supposed to be allowed into Gaza, but they largely remain on the other side of the Rafah border crossing, with Israel obstructing their entry."

Many opposed Harris because she continued very active support to the Israeli genocide. Very few believed Trump would be better.

Yeah, he was so much better than Trump. /s

Blame Biden-Harris and the Democrats, not the Palestinians.

Yes, they are a marketing technique, but I don't know of any other legal way to share them. Please give me any ideas you may have. Thanks.

Yes, and it is very positive that prominent human rights groups agree and document it. These reports can be used to pressure governments, universities, etc. to divest from Israel and to stop sending arms, software, etc. to Israel.

The main point that I "got" is that you like to rant using lots of capital letters. (And I know that it is genocide, but understanding that is not absolutely necessary to act in favor of Palestine. Look at Bernie Sanders - he is a very critical, liberal Zionist, yet his actions in the Senate and his speeches have helped, not hurt, the Palestinian cause, in spite of his refusal to call it genocide.)

I agree that posting this without any clarifying critical comments was a mistake. But I still think it was worth posting for the reasons I stated in another post.

Yes, that's true, but I thought that a pro-Israel Jewish US publication having an opinion piece favorable to Gaza was worth sharing. It helps to break down the demonization of Palestinians that is so widespread in the US.

It's not an article that will give someone brilliant insights into the reality of Zionism, but it helps create space for discussion with a broader set of people.
