What's Metas main incentive? Money, obviously.

What do people want? Social networking without bills, ads or privacy issues.

Jo. So versuche ich auch die Medienkompetenz an meine Kinder weiterzugeben: anyonym sein, nichts persönliches öffentlich posten, trotzdem nett und respektvoll. Da sehe ich dann auch keinen Grund zum generellen Löschen, man sollte ohnehin davon ausgehen dass alles auf ewig irgendwo gespeichert wird.

Ist das nicht ein Missverständnis bezüglich der DSGVO? Die befasst sich doch mit der Erfassung personenbezogener Daten.

Habe nix mit browse.feddit.de zu tun, aber so etwas wollte ich am Wochenende basteln. Sollte kein großes Ding sein, die APIs sind ja öffentlich und dokumentiert.

I think the whole reddit issue can be summed up very concisely. The users liked reddit because it was simple to use, free of ads and other distracting bullshit. That's how they got big. But there's no money in that. For some reason, investors still threw money at it. Now, they want their money back and reddit has 2000 employees. They need to find more and more ways to make money, which effectively kills the reason reddit got popular in the first place.

TL;DR don't invest gazillions in a site simply because it has many users.

Look at numbers 4., 9. and 11. in your screenshot. Those are obvious jokes.

Keep in mind that some people are really dedicated to their parodies, just look at the circlejerk subs.
