Can you still install an OSS alternative instead of their locked OS? I am using a F4-420 with TrueNAS for more then 6 years now, as I remember they changed something in their firmware so you are not able to install another OS anymore. But I can be wrong, my Terramaster runs just fine on TrueNAS (community edition). It's an awesome and trouble free NAS.

e/OS, year 7 or 8. Not the Murena edition, I installed it myself. It works for me since FP3, but I'm not a power user. Little bit of banking, Signal and phone. I'm not interested in having the most secure, uber-mystified computer in my pocket, I'm not a spy. It's de-googled, uses only one app with ChatGPT which you can just deactivate. Enough privacy for me.
