I'm currently on "modified release" methylphenidate, it goes harder first and then declines. (More or less, I can't recall the actual curve).

I do not consume any caffeine tho. Currently tweaking the dosage and hoping my body adapts…

Already did, got told to half the dossage (from 2 pill to 1, 40mg -> 20mg).

I guess it feels less bad?

Basically the title.

Brief background information

After having tried all sorts of Elvanse (lisdexamfetamine) dosages (30, 50 and 70 mg) and noticing nothing at all, I've got prescribed with Medikinet 20 mg (Methylphenidate).

The thing

I don't think I can properly articulate the experience in English, but I'm going to try anyway.

I noticed that, shortly after taking them, I start to feel as if I was on the verge of having a panic attack (maybe that's a bit dramatic, IDK if I experienced one of those ever anyway). I become incredibly stressed, but for not apparent reason. Not only that, but I could not rationalize the source of my stress/discomfort.

It is an excruciating feeling. Thankfully, it does not last more than a couple of hours. Also, while going through it, I feel tired, exhausted even.

It is weird, very weird.

Trying to relax is futile, the same goes for breathing exercises, distractions etc…

Does anything here make any sense to you?

P.D: Thanks for reading this incomprehensible wall of text, I am currently in this shity state.

I was in a relationship until almost a month ago.

Now just kind sad because I study from home and have almost zero social interactions.

No but now I do.

Having a good --help command does wonders.

There are man pages which do avoid me opening a web browser, the systemd ones are pretty good for example.

I just installed tldr to test it out tho.

I know, I wasn't expecting to take them and solve all my life problems. (Wouldn't have complained tho. /j)

It's just that I do not notice any difference, maybe a few side effects here and there but nothing else. First I thought it was the dosage but now I don't know anymore. :/

Disappointed, 70mg of Elvanse and still nothing.

Yep, it is present on a lot of old literature.

Do you even realise it is late? Uh.

Yep, all good here.

I have a follow-up meeting with my doc next Monday to check how has been the medication going. I noted everything donw in order to make sure I bring it up.

Thanks for answering, the comments helped then.

[Update]: Thanks everyone for answering and caring. I wasn't expecting this reaction at all.

While I got over the panick attack quickly I really appreciated all the comfort and info you provided. <3

At the end of the day I only got a slightly worse headache and rebound effect but that was to be expected. It's been barely three weeks since I've got started with medication and next Monday I have a follow-up meeting with my doctor.

I noted everything up with the rest of my experiences just in case it's useful since I think it might be working better… xD

Anyway, thank you all again. (:

[END of Update]

I'm on Elvanse (lisdexanfetamin) 30mg I just took two pills instead of one by mistake.

I'm quite sure I wasn't noticing anything with 30mg but now I fear an overdose or some shit.

Tho here if 30mg is not enough they jump you to 50mg which is not far from 60mg…

The thing is that I'm scared and don't know what I should do.

So hi all you cool fediverse thingies,

(Edit: I just realized I posted this on ADHD memes. Can't stop being a clown)

After an odyssey I've been finally diagnosed at 18 of age with "a textbook example of ADHD" (-my psychiatrist) and high QI. Lmao I wish.

They gave me 30gm of lisdexanfetamin (Elvanse) and I just took a pill a few hours ago after getting up.

The thing is that I'm not feeling a single thing different in any way and I don't even what should I be expecting. I might be scared of having expend more money and time because of the dosage not being right…

How were your first moments/days/weeks with medication? (I you don't mind sharing).

I don't want to fail uni. :c
