Americans would need to actually protest for this to happen. The rough equivalent of the Tiananmen Square protest would be if there was a constant presence surrounding the White House day and night for 6 weeks with crowd sizes ranging from 100,000 to 1,000,000 protesters depending on the day and time.

Actually, I have a permit for that

This reminds me of synaesthesia, where two concepts are involuntarily linked within someone's brain. Typically it's something like numbers and colours, or letters and colours, but could also be something like words and taste. It's rare, but people who have it would probably remember a phone number based on its "colour" and think that's how everyone does it.

A lot of hydroelectric dams have visitor centers and I know of at least one cheese factory that has a storefront and walkway where people can see parts of the factory. I'd assume it's not common for factories though.

I work at a factory and, for insurance purposes, the bosses don't let anyone on the floor without them watching hours of saftey videos. There also isn't much to see. The machines are guarded up so much that you can't even see most moving parts. It's just magical black box material goes in, product comes out, type of stuff. Some factories also keep their setup and processes a secret.

Lune has rejected the idea of shoes. My headcanon is that she draws her mana from the earth and footwear gets in the way. In the same way that Quiet from Metal Gear breathes through her skin and must wear a bikini at all times.

Not to mention one of the characters spending the entire game barefoot. It's the attention to detail, really.

Yes. Courts ruled the government would be violating section 7, "Life, liberty and security of the person". Section 33 is the notwithstanding clause which allows governments to ignore section 7, among many others.

Section 33, Notwithstanding clause:

Parliament or the legislature of a province may expressly declare in an Act of Parliament or of the legislature, as the case may be, that the Act or a provision thereof shall operate notwithstanding a provision included in section 2 or sections 7 to 15 of this Charter.

If you're curious about which rights the government is allowed to ignore:

Section 2(a) – Freedom of religion
Section 2(b) – Freedom of expression
Section 2(c) – Freedom of peaceful assembly
Section 2(d) – Freedom of association
Section 7 – Life, liberty and security of the person
Section 8 – Search and seizure
Section 9 – Arbitrary detention
Section 10(a) – Right to be informed of reasons for detention or arrest
Section 10(b) – Right to counsel
Section 10(c) – Habeas corpus
Section 11(a) – Right to be informed without unreasonable delay of the specific offence charged
Section 11(b) – Trial within a reasonable time
Section 11(c) – Protection against testimonial compulsion
Section 11(d) – Presumption of innocence
Section 11(e) – Right not to be denied reasonable bail without just cause
Section 11(f) – Trial by jury
Section 11(g) – Retroactive offences
Section 11(h) – Protection against double jeopardy
Section 11(i) – Lesser punishment
Section 12 – Cruel and unusual treatment or punishment
Section 13 – Protection against self-incrimination
Section 14 – Right to an interpreter
Section 15 – Equality rights

I liked the Daily Show sketch of the History Channel updating their WWII programming to highlight who the bad guys were.

Put pressure on the actual companies pulling this crap. I'm doubtful governments are going to do anything about it, but organized boycotts might.

It was Critikal and PewDiePie saying to sign it. They could get a million signatures on literally anything.
