A few additional years in IT should dampen that down to a slight fizzing sensation in the general area.

I've found that complicated passwords plus using WPS for such devices are my most usable compromise.

Works with OpenWRT with some extra steps: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/basic#wps_options

It's 2025 and I'm still holding IPv6 workshops for otherwise very competent people. So... No, not common enough yet.

Good network infrastructure at home always gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. The blinkenlights, the five bars of 5GHz Wifi even in the back of the garden, the dashboard showing all the devices connected to the network chugging along, it's just, hmm, I find it very satisfying.

Also, it doubles as a presence detection for people which proves useful in home automation.

Pack up your country and leave then. Rejoin the Warsaw Pact for all I care.

Not much. I guess it's time for that lesson again, dark times are ahead.

that we were all sold out to the Russians?

No. In the mind of the AfD fanbase, being under the control of a strongman-led Russia is by far preferable to whatever they perceive is currently the case. I mean, for most of them, at least in the eastern part of Germany, that's something like "the good old times".

Seems like their position weakened quite a bit since 2014.

Seems like they need a breather and none of those things are going to be finished in the time they need for their breather.

Was soll schon schief gehen.

Well, there are reasons why the average life expectancy went up over the last decades. People back then just didn't give a fuck about a lot of things.

Yes, but in true german fashion that horse will be ridden not until dead, but until it starts smelling badly about a week later. And usually everybody would then cry for bailouts which would be refinanced by extracting more taxes from the lower middle class and by cutting social support for lower classes, but this time there's no feet for the car industry to get back on, they cut those off themselves. It would be interesting to see how all that plays out, if I weren't living in the middle of all of it.

I don't know how I never got that idea. I've always complained that a panorama roof is mainly a feature for the rear passengers - well, this is actually rather excellent.
