Let's be real, nothing Amazon makes would be as cool as that guy.

Maybe that is what it was that I am thinking of.
I could swear my original US release had some weird combo of the two. I gave away 90% of my PS1 and PS2 games last year so I can't check now, but I really think it had the main image shown from the Japanese release on the case. Maybe the image was shown in game on the loading screen or something and I am just remembering it wrong.
I am positive I saw this used in a fairly low budget 80s movie, but I can't remember which one. I'll be honest, I love it. There is a 0% chance my wife would let me bring it into the house even if I got it for free though.
They have these at my local Whole Foods too, I was horrified the first time I saw it. I have yet to see a single person use these devices, and I hope that is the common behavior.
I feel like most IT people are actually playing a roguelike with the work UI ever (Jira)
Thanks for reminding me that Megaman actually talked like that in the awful Saturday morning cartoon I watched as a kid (Captain N: The Game Master)
Was the TV you got from Sceptre? I got one recently as a dumb TV and it was quite cheap. No complaints thus far, but also managed my expectations in display and speaker quality from a $150 TV.
They include every service in the world, but if there is no headphone jack they can get fucked.
The issue is that it was the DE originally, some people (myself included) just didn't fully get the memo when it changed like 15 or so years ago. I haven't used the KDE DE since before that change, so I get how it could be missed. Rebranding is hard, even years later. I am sure many people think KFC still stands for Kentucky Fried Chicken too.
This looks great, but I also understand why you got rid of it. I had to do the same and gave away all of my retro systems and CRTs all the way back to my Atari 2600. It just took up too much space for how little it was being used so I wanted that stuff to be in the hands of someone that would hopefully enjoy it.
Other than customization, which honestly will always be cumbersome, it sounds like your issues are with the key caps, switches, and layout. I suspect you will get used to the lay out, but I have no patience for switches or caps I don't like. Normally, I'd say that you should just swap out the key caps and/or switches and most of the problems you mention go away, but the Q1 has a far less common layout so that makes replacing the key caps more of an issue. I am not a fan of the stock caps on the Keychron either and I'd have already had replacement caps lines up if I bought one.
In the end, the Q1 is expensive enough that if you are not liking it, I'd return it and get something else. There is no way I'd personally go for a "regular keyboard" (by which I assume you mean a cheap rubber dome keyboard), but I'd probably get one that had a more standard layout and maybe something a little smaller since you are used to using a laptop.
