After all these years, is there any chance for having a Stremio alternative for iOS and tvOS?

Stremio has all that helpful plugins, and steaming platforms are just assholes increasing prices, and reducing the quality of their products.

Ok so I grabbed the portable version from Sourceforge to pirate a few of my favorite channels from YT and after a few minutes of working, Malwarebytes Pro coughs up a furball and tells me one of the files is infected with a Generic.Ransomeware???

Anyone else ever run across or hear of anything like this? I know false positives are rampant these days but I'd rather not take the chance.

Also, not to sound stupid but is Sourceforge not the original place to get Tartube???

Intro: Webtoon is an app/website where (mostly Korean) comics are released in short episodes. Those episodes aren't released all at once but usually once a week, you have a free unlock a day and if you want you can have more by either watching an ad or by paying with coins, that are paid with real money. With the smallest purchase ($6), an episode can be unlocked with 3 coins (¢35) up to 7 (¢80). You can also skip the wait by paying with coins. I used it for years and I was ok by watching the ads at the end of each episode. It limited myself to one a day, otherwise I would scroll for hours. But, at the end of June 2024, they did the IPO, so that means ✨enshittification✨

So the guide on how to push away users to piracy:

1. Have a scary reminder at the beginning of every episode that says that piracy is illegal. (I can't screenshot that without a rooted phone, it's blocked). This helps the user to have a daily notification that yes, this content is also available somewhere else and you're not bound to artificial limits.

2. Put the last three episodes of a series started 3-4 years ago in perpetual paywall. No more "just wait one week to get the new episode". You want to see how that 200 episodes story that you're reading almost every day for 3 years ends? LOL pay $6 to buy a coins package!

3. Now that the user is pissed that they can't know how the story ends, they'll just search it on the illegal sites, since over the past years they had to skip through 200 reminders that yes, this story is also available over there.

I would like to have a certain show ripped and stored on my pc but I cant find any rips of it on the internet. I would buy the subscription myself and share it online but Im not that good at ripping stuff (for sure not as good as groups). Actually, i know. shit about that, I know streamfab rips from max but only. up to 720p. So, is there any place I could ask someone to rip smth? the speed in which big companies delete. content nowadays is so dam fast, the remastered version of show im looking for might be lost media in fuckin days. have a good day dudes

Be careful, Don't Pirate over Telegram.

In instructions to Google, Judge Rossignoli says that the company must “adopt the necessary technical means to immediately uninstall from Android systems that report IP addresses in the territory of the Argentine Republic (which can be verified by the IP addresses assigned to this country), the application named Magis TV.”

"What was achieved is an unprecedented court order, which is in the process of being analyzed by Google – we understand that they cannot deny it – which is to uninstall, through the Android operating system update, the application on all devices that have an IP address in Argentina,” [prosecuter Alejandro] Musso says.

I've seen a lot of official MST3K (Mystery Science Theater 3000, ya boob) getting streamed on Youtube. I have a lot of these already from quite a while ago, sourced from various places. Some from my own DVD rips (thanks Netflix), downloaded DVD rips, and a small amount of "lost" content coming from VHS rips off broadcast.

Are the Youtube streams worth archiving? I was specifically looking at a livestream for Season 1 that "includes lost host segments". I was going to download it through Newpipe, but I didn't see the option on this stream (granted, I didn't look too deeply).

Are these streams worth the time if I already have the episodes? Have they been cleaned-up in any way?

I've been trying to download some images from Shutterstock for a week now and every site on FMHY gives me an error. Is there something happening?

Movies: I like to playback raw video files with a desktop video player. I settle for nothing less. I would gladly pay a few doubloons in exchange for a movie video file download but nobody offers this, (except for GOG that one time with a paltry selection of films).

Games: "Hey we released this new game buuuuut you're going to need to purchase an entire separate computer system we call a 'console' because we refuse to compile the game binary for PC OSes, nor provide the source for you to do so yourself"

I interpret distributors and publishers treating me as a second (or third) class citizen as carte blanche to acquire your content and make the necessary changes to make it work on my environment of choice.

Cant believe they are increasing the prices this much in one go, gonna be going back to adblockers.

Has anyone actually found the NSP/XCI somewhere?

I've found an update file but the base game doesn't seem to be anywhere I have access to.

I keep seeing in forums and sites like these that say it's frowned upon to not seed torrents that you use/used. I saw a post on here or Reddit (I don't remember) with a guy ecstatic that someone started seeding his download he had been trying to get done for months. I know seeding lets someone download something using your computer but how is it helpful if someone doesn't have a site and/or isn't "in-range" ?

If you can't tell, I don't know much about how torrenting works other than how to download something using one. I hope that you all can just explain or point me in the right direction because I would like to support the community.

I use emulators that play directly from (.iso) or (.img) files, however as you probably know, most ROMs are downloaded as archives.

Do you backup your ROMs in their downloaded archived format? Or as uncompressed files?
