For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.
No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

One man's transphobia and horrible parenting is tearing this country to pieces. This is the worst possible timeline. I can't even begin to imagine what his daughter is feeling right now.

That's absolutely true. I transitioned over a decade ago and have never had a problem until Republicans randomly decided that trans people were a target recently. A buddy of mine transitioned 35 years ago and he's in absolute pieces over the state of the country right now. He was harassed just yesterday while taking a walk, because he's out and proud in the neighborhood. I'm absolutely terrified to see how bad this will get.

Europe needs to step the fuck up right now. Don't they know that appeasement doesn't work? Are they going to continue standing on the sidelines for years while Ukraine fights on their own?
They can also stop this war. Europe can take action. Lead the world while the US has its head up its own ass.

Also, Russia is in no state right now to start a military attack on Europe more than they already do right now (i.e., cutting undersea cables, troll farming and election manipulation etc.). Russia can't handle Ukraine with half-assed support from Europe/US, how could they handle Ukraine plus the rest of Europe?

You had me until last part. Belittling level of threat that Russia and its allies pose is not good. Not good at all. Belittling encourages apathy and sense of superiority, which we cant afford.
I recommend ”Autocracy, inc.” book from last year 2024 by Anne Applebaum (which won a pulitzer) to you, all americans, europeans and anyone who actually cares about democracy, human rights.

Thanks, I'll check that out. My current perception of the issue is quite the opposite, though: Europe has been in a shock state, not knowing what to do, because they were scared of Russia. Nobody dared confronting them. Ukraine is one exception, and as it turned out, the Russian military (apart from their nukes of course) is a joke. Turkey did that a few years ago as well, when a Russian fighter jet entered their air space for a few seconds and they just shot it down.
My current reading of the situation is that the fear of Russia is more threatening than Russia's actual power.

I still say, be cautious with underestimating them. Russia may not have pure strength alone to oppose whole EU but … thats the thing, they and other dictators around the world are NOT alone and they are actively helping each other. Wherever there might be a tiny ray of hope of a dictatorship falling and becoming a democracy, they invite foreign ”experts” to help crush opposition. They have been interfering with elections and trying to sow discord in west for decades (just look at US) and they have found lots of allies in greedy businessmen of the west.
Now that they dont anymore have to focus on US so much with their influencing and misinformation campaigns, guess whos next? EU.
What once was a good thing, internet anonymity, is turning out to be at least a double edged sword thanks to troll farms… and now that AI is rapidly advancing and coming to our everyday lifes, its only gonna get worse.
Ukraine is not only fighting against Russia but Russia that has its back covered by China, India, Iran etc.

She just did an interview and a ~~photoshops~~ Photoshoot in Teen Vogue. Vivian said she’s not afraid of her father at all and that he’s pathetic (direct quote) and that he can go to hell (paraphrasing).
The interview dropped this week so that’s probably why Musk is tweeting like a 12 year old role playing their vague concept of a bereft father.
