Could they have made the headline any more misleading??

For those too lazy to read
"There’s an immigrant taking people’s jobs… his name is Elon Musk," the lawmaker wrote. "He’s snatching farms, government jobs (even those in which they manage our national security), and definitely those whose jobs are to root out fraud (inspector generals), & those that are keeping us safe (FAA), meals on wheels workers, head start, and the list goes on, so I’ll be the bigger person and admit to MAGA that I was wrong when I said immigrants wouldn’t take our jobs. You were 1000 percent correct."
I think that's the point, right? Outrage generates interaction, a Democrat 'admitting' that they (Republicans) are right about immigration is the perfect hook.
People often "talk in airquotes" when they're really "being sarcastic". :)
More commonly, headlines will write "in air quotes" when they are directly quoting what the subject said...
Two things can be true
That's the type of language and leadership the Democrats actually need.
clutches pearls but what will the moderates think?!
Chuck can dip his balls in the toliet for all I care.
We have to protect the poor fragile moderates!
US Overton window is weird. Moderate liberals are way to the left of most elected Democrats.
Guarantee you that screen grabs of this headline are gonna make the conservative rounds for years and they'll un-ironically tell people to do their own research knowing that their viewers have no critical-thinking skills.
What the actual fuck is this headline?
A bad partial quote. Heres the full:
"There’s an immigrant taking people’s jobs… his name is Elon Musk," the lawmaker wrote. "He’s snatching farms, government jobs (even those in which they manage our national security), and definitely those whose jobs are to root out fraud (inspector generals), & those that are keeping us safe (FAA), meals on wheels workers, head start, and the list goes on, so I’ll be the bigger person and admit to MAGA that I was wrong when I said immigrants wouldn’t take our jobs. You were 1000 percent correct."
I know; I meant that it's so misleading as to be straight up misinformation.
I've said it before, ICE can start with Elon.
It's worse than that. Elon identified one of the core tenets impacting employment and he didn't even know he was doing it. H1-B visa engineers are underpaid, and over worked, the rich are replacing the hardworking US engineers that demand good pay with slave labor engineers from foreign countries. If an immigrant is better at a job than me, it stings, but by all means pay them a good wage and give them a fancy title, but if there really isn't a difference other than you can pay them less... Get them out, and fill the jobs with people already here. Replacing good workers with slave labor is part of what has strangled the middle class into lower middle class, and bottom class people.
- It used to be that if you had to rent an apartment you were poor, even in the cities you could buy an apartment when working at an educated level of job. Now, people just rent an expensive apartment and people assume they have money, Unless you have a support system to help you, you aren't buying a home. If you do you will be working a side gig as well as your main job, and that's just to make the two different ends of paychecks meet in the middle.
Smart woman.
When is someone going to find all these jobs? Where do they hide them?
Construction, agriculture, food service and lawn service.
Where did they take them? I know a crap ton of white rednecks that do exactly those jobs for a living
I do as well. I don't think any jobs were "stolen" from anyone.
Increase the number of participants in an economy, increases both supply and demand for labor, long story short. "Immigrants taking our jobs" is the stupidest talking point in human history.
"Ebola cases just found in NY"...
Wait, WHAT?!?!!?
(whew!) False alarm!
It was neurovirus.
From one of Elon's brain chips?
Good thing we got Trumpy and Worm Brains in charge of everything.
Don't worry, Bronzo the Clown, fElon and Brainworms will have things well in hand[1].
[1] And by that, I mean, they'll be standing their with their tiny pricks in their hands if/when something like this hits.
I see what they did there.
Well, he did "create" a handful of jobs, like the one for Big Balls.
