"It does suck, because everybody kind of makes fun of the Cybertruck. To the outside person, it's kind of weird, it's ugly, whatever. Once you actually get in it, drive it, you realize it's pretty frickin' cool," he says. "It's kind of been sad, because I've been trying to prove to people that it's a really awesome truck that's not falling apart, and then mine starts to fall apart, so it's just... Yeah, it's kind of unfortunate and sad."

The trim piece may not be the only part of the truck that is effectively secured only with adhesive: Tomasko says he believes other components, including the truck's quarter panels, also seem to be held on this way,

Ah yes, the "stainless steel exo skeleton"... it's just glued on, after all

Purely a marketing issue. Instead of "trim pieces falling off at speed", call it the Cyclist Beheader™.

Show those Wokeys who's boss!

One Thinks He Knows Why

Hang, I know this one.

It's because it's a fucking pile of shit.

[–] NegativeLookBehind@lemmy.world 9 points 9 hours ago

So very well put. Thank you.

Is...is the car glued together?

[–] CrimeDad@lemmy.crimedad.work 1 points 1 hour ago

Parts of it. To be fair, glue is pretty common in automotive and aerospace applications. When it's used properly, it's very strong and reliable … when it's used properly.

It would seem not.

Probably made from cardboard derivatives.

[–] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 13 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Don't badmouth cardboard derivatives. The Trabant didn't fall apart like this!

Trabants have the excuse of being slapped together in factories who often didn't make parts that could be swapped, and were worked on by a drunk with half a toolbox and whatever could be scavanged out of a dumpster.

What's the swastikar's excuse?

Edit: Also the trebant runs on a f'ing hedge trimmer motor and has the personality of a bunch of drunken rednecks out to have fun.

The swastikar's personality is 'useless douchbag.'

Explains why the front is starting to fall off.

Does it have minimal crew requirements?

[–] Punchshark@lemmy.ca 5 points 9 hours ago

I think glue would be generous

Looks like a boat, breaks like a boat...

[–] henfredemars@infosec.pub 11 points 9 hours ago

There’s a saying that the second happiest day of all boat owners is the day they get rid of that expensive piece of junk.
